Double A-side
The A-side and B-side are the two sides of vinyl records and cassettes, and the terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. The A-side of a single usually features a recording that its artist, producer, or record company intends to be the initial focus of promotional efforts and radio airplay, with the aim of it becoming a hit record. The B-side (or "flip-side") is a secondary recording that typically receives less attention, although some B-sides have been as successful as, or more so than, their A-sides. Use of this language has largely declined in the 21st century as the music industry has transitioned away from analog recordings towards digital formats without physical sides, such as downloads and streaming. "We Can Work It Out" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon. It was first issued as a A-side and B-side#Double A-side, double A-side single with "Day Tripper" in December 1965. The song was recorded during the sessions for the band's ''Rubber Soul'' album. The single reached number one in Britain (where it won the Ivor Novello Award for the top-selling A-side of 1965), the United States, Australia, Canada, and Ireland. In the UK, it was the seventh highest selling single of the 1960s. Filler is material of lower cost or quality that is used to fill a certain Broadcast programming#Time slot, television or radio time slot or physical medium, such as a music album. Broadcasting During the Golden Age of Radio, when a scheduled program was unavailable or delayed or when a program ran overtime or undertime leaving space to fill until the next scheduled program. Irish Singles Chart
The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. All major record shops, digital retailers and streaming services contribute to the chart, accounting for over 95% of the market. A new chart is compiled and released to the public by the Irish Recorded Music Association on Friday at noon. Each chart is dated with the "week-ending" date of the previous Thursday (i.e., the day before issue). The singles chart was first published on 1 October 1962, and covered the top ten singles of the previous week by record label shipments. "Rape Me" is a song by the American rock band Nirvana, written by vocalist and guitarist Kurt Cobain. It is the fourth song on the band's third and final studio album, '' In Utero'', released in September 1993. "All Apologies" is a song by American rock band Nirvana, written by vocalist and guitarist Kurt Cobain. It appears as the final track on the band's third and final studio album, '' In Utero'', released by DGC Records in September 1993. The song closes the American version of the album, while non-US versions of '' In Utero'' feature an additional song, "Gallons of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through the Strip", which begins after approximately 20 minutes of silence on the same track. On December 6, 1993, "All Apologies" was released as the second single from ''In Utero'', as a double A-side with the song "Rape Me". "Girls' School" is a song by Wings released in 1977. Recording and release Written and produced by Paul McCartney during the first sessions for '' London Town'' (before recording was stopped due to Linda McCartney's pregnancy), it was released as a double A-side single with " Mull of Kintyre". Accordingly, it was part of the band's sole UK number one, spending nine weeks at the top in December 1977 and January 1978. Although "Mull of Kintyre" was initially the more air-played song, the AA side was latterly supported by broadcasters including Radio Luxembourg which helped the single sustain its reign at the top of the charts until the beginning of February 1978.
