"Beep, beep" is onomatopoeia representing a noise, generally of a pair of identical tones ( beeps) following one after the other, often generated by a machine or device such as a car horn. It is commonly associated with the Road Runner (meep, meep) in Looney Tunes cartoons featuring the speedy-yet-flightless bird and his constant pursuer, Wile E. Coyote. '' Beep, Beep'' is the name of a 1952 Warner Bros. cartoon in the '' Merrie Melodies'' series. Road Runner cartoons Chuck Jones, the creator of Road Runner, has stated that this sound, the only way the Road Runner can harm the Coyote, was inspired by hearing a Doppler-like effect as background artist Paul Julian imitated a car horn when he could not see where he was going. Onomatopoeia is the process of creating a word that phonetically imitates, resembles, or suggests the sound that it describes. Such a word itself is also called an onomatopoeia. Common onomatopoeias include animal noises such as ''oink'', ''meow'' (or ''miaow''), ''roar'', and ''chirp''. ''Fast and Furry-ous'' is a 1949 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon, directed by Chuck Jones and written by Michael Maltese. The short was released on September 17, 1949, and stars Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, in their debut. This was the debut of the Coyote/Road Runner pairing and set the template for the series, in which Wile E. Coyote (here given the mock genus/species name in faux-Latin ''Carnivorous Vulgaris'') tries to catch the Road Runner (''Accelleratii Incredibus'') through many traps, plans and products. In this first cartoon, not all of the products are yet made by ACME. The title is a play on the expression "fast and furious". Nash Rambler
The Nash Rambler is a North American automobile that was produced by the Nash Motors division of Nash-Kelvinator Corporation from 1950 to 1954 in sedan, wagon, and fixed-profile convertible body styles. On 1 May 1954, Nash-Kelvinator merged with the Hudson Motor Car Company to form American Motors Corporation (AMC). The Nash Rambler was then built by AMC in Kenosha, Wisconsin, until 1955. The Nash Rambler established a new segment in the automobile market and is widely acknowledged to be the first successful modern American compact car. The 1950–1955 Nash Rambler was the first model run for this platform. Using the same tooling, AMC reintroduced an almost identical "new" 1958 Rambler American for a second model run. "Beep Beep" is a novelty single by the Playmates, released in 1958 by Roulette Records (catalog number 4115) as the B-side to "Your Love". The song describes an unintended road race between two mismatched cars. Production "Beep Beep" was written by Carl Cicchetti and Donald Claps, also known as Chic Hetti and Donny Conn, the band's arranger/pianist and drummer, respectively. The song is built around accelerando: The tempo of the song gradually increases commensurate with the increasing speed of the drivers. In his book ''The Guide to United States Popular Culture'', Ray B. Browne lists "Beep Beep" as an example of "motoring music ..in the chase mode". Homer Jay Simpson is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the American animated sitcom ''The Simpsons''. The Plymouth Road Runner is a mid-size car with a focus on performance built by Plymouth in the United States between 1968 and 1980. By 1968, some of the original muscle cars were moving away from their roots as relatively cheap, fast cars as they gained features and increased in price. Plymouth developed the Road Runner to market a lower-priced, basic trim model to its upscale GTX. Origin Plymouth paid $50,000 to Warner Bros.-Seven Arts to use the Road Runner name and likeness from their Wile E.
