Afterimage
AfterImage is a Filipino rock band formed in 1986, best known for their songs "Habang May Buhay", "Next in Line", and "Mangarap Ka". They disbanded in 1997 and became active again in 2008 after they reunited and released their fourth studio album. After disbanding in 1997, Wency Cornejo, the band's vocalist, pursued a solo career. In January 1992, the band signed with Dyna Records, The band's first album, entitled ''Touch the Sun'', was released in July 1992. Among the eight songs that the album contained, four were released as singles: "Next in Line", "Bai (Sa Langit ang Ating Tagpuan)", "Only You", and "Pagtawid". The title of the album, which was the concluding part of the lyric to "Next in Line", was said to have just been a spontaneous utter of phrase which Cornejo made during the recording session for the said song. Alamid (band)
Alamid is a Filipino rock band from Manila. History The two main members Gary Ignacio and Dexter Facelo met while attending the St. James Academy in Malabon. In 1993, they signed to Warner Bros. Records (Warner Music Philippines) and released three albums. On November 4, 1994 the band along with Razorback opened for the American Rock Band supergroup Mr. Big at their concert at the Folk Arts Theater. Their hit single "Your Love" was named Song of the Year at the NU107 Rock Awards in 1995. In 2006, it was covered by Erik Santos generating renewed interest in the band, although Ignacio and Facelo constituted the band at that time. They were managed by Dodong Viray until his demise. They had further success with the songs "Just Wasn't Brave Enough" and "Still Believe in Love" while the intro to "China Eyes" was used for ABS-CBN sitcom ''Palibhasa Lalake''. The NU Rock Awards was an annual accolade presented from 1994 to 2010 by the Metro Manila-based radio station NU 107, known for prominent performances by the most influential pinoy rock artists of each year. History The first NU 107 Rock Awards was held at The Music Hall in Annapolis St., Greenhills on November 15, 1994. Originally meant to be a small gathering to give recognition to the rock community, it slowly became a much anticipated annual event. Francis Reyes
Francis Florentino Saludo Reyes (born June 20, 1967 in Lipa City, Batangas) is a Filipino musician. He is best known for being the guitarist for the Filipino rock band the Dawn. He was the chief radio announcer and musical director for the rock station NU107.5 FM who used the on-air stage name Francis Brew. He was also the editor of ''Billboard Philippines'', which was launched in 2016. Early years Reyes was born and raised in Lipa City, the second child of Florante Luz Reyes, a photographer, and Teresita Marquinez Saludo, a housewife.
