''Ammazzacaffè'' (; ) is a small glass of liqueur usually consumed after coffee to dull its taste or the effects of caffeine. It is a common Italian custom, especially after a generous festive meal. Grappa is an alcoholic beverage: a fragrant, grape-based pomace brandy of Italian origin that contains 35 to 60 percent alcohol by volume (70 to 120 Alcohol proof, US proof).
