''Wedlocked'' was an Australian sitcom that ran for 11 episodes in 1994 on the Seven Network. It was created by Andrew Knight and Doug MacLeod. Premise A single author of a marriage guidance book gets a "pretend" wife for appearances. The wife and her daughter move in with the author and his son. Sitcom
A sitcom, a Portmanteau, portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. The Seven Network (commonly known as Channel Seven or simply Seven) is a major Australian commercial free-to-air television network. It is owned by Seven West Media Limited, and is one of five main free-to-air television networks in Australia. The network's headquarters are located in Sydney. Andrew John Knight (born 29 September 1953) is an Australian TV writer and producer of film and television, known for his work on '' ''Rake'''', ''Jack Irish'', ''Hacksaw Ridge'', '' Ali's Wedding'' and '' The Water Diviner''. Doug MacLeod (13 October 1959 – 22 November 2021) was an Australian writer of books, television and theatre. Television MacLeod was a working writer for ABC Radio's comedy department in the 1980s, before spending two years as head writer of Network Ten's ''The Comedy Company''. He was a writer on the sketch comedy programs ''Fast Forward'' and '' Full Frontal''. He was the script editor of ''Kath & Kim'' while the series aired on the ABC. Stephen William Vizard AM (born 6 March 1956) is an Australian television and radio presenter, producer, writer, lawyer and businessman. He is an adjunct professor at Monash University and University of Adelaide.
