''Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)'' is the second studio album by British pop duo Eurythmics, released on 4 January 1983 by RCA Records. Background and release Release and popularity After a year and a half of initial commercial failure for Eurythmics, this album became a breakthrough for the duo on both sides of the Atlantic. The title track became particularly popular and remains one of Eurythmics' most recognisable songs. ''Sweet Dreams'' is a 2012 documentary film about the Rwandan women's drumming troupe ''Ingoma Nshya'', which was founded in 2005 by playwright Odile "Kiki" Katese with women from both sides of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The drumming troupe's success then led to the opening of an ice cream store in 2010, which also brings together people from both sides of the genocide. The documentary was co-directed by siblings Lisa Fruchtman and Rob Fruchtman; Lisa Fruchtman had learned of the troupe and the plans for the shop from Katese in 2009. The film has been shown at many film festivals (Mill Valley Film Festival, Ashland Independent Film Festival, IDFA Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival, the Savannah Film and Video Festival, Silverdocs, and DOC NYC). Sweet Dreams was a British vocal trio composed of Carrie Gray (later Grant), Helen Kray and Bobby McVay. This teen trio represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 with the song " I'm Never Giving Up". Sweet Dreams were an English studio group who scored a hit single in 1974 with a cover of the ABBA song "Honey Honey". Career In 1974, former Pickettywitch member and session backing vocalist Polly Brown recorded a cover of an ABBA album track, "Honey Honey". This was produced by Ron Roker and Gerry Shury, with the former also supplying the male vocal on the track. Tony Jackson was recruited to act as a partner for Brown in their performances for the single. Jackson, born in Barbados 17 March 1944, had moved to London in 1965 and spent five years as a member of reggae outfit the Skatalites who had the No. 36 hit "Guns of Navarone" in 1967.
