Zlatomir Zagorčić
Zlatomir Zagorčić ( sr-cyr, Златомир Загорчић, bg, Златомир Загорчич; born 15 June 1971) is a former Serbian-born Bulgarian footballer. Nicknamed ''Zagi'', Zagorčić played as a defender and began his career with FK Novi Sad. In 1997 he moved to Bulgarian club Litex Lovech, where he won two Bulgarian A Group titles. In this time Zagorčić made his debut for the Bulgarian national team under manager Hristo Bonev prior to the 1998 World Cup. He was a member of the Bulgarian 2004 European Football Championship squad. Zagorčić retired from playing professional football in November 2005. Managerial career In July 2006 Zagorčić joined the coaching staff of his former club Litex Lovech, as he was appointed assistant to manager Ljupko Petrović. PFC Slavia Sofia
PFC Slavia Sofia ( bg, ПФК Славия София) is a Bulgarian professional association football club based in Sofia, which currently competes in the top tier of the Bulgarian football league system, the First League. Slavia's home ground is the Stadion Aleksandar Shalamanov in Ovcha kupel with a capacity of 25,556. The team's colours are white and black. Established on 10 April 1913, Slavia is currently the oldest sports club in Sofia. Slavia is one of only two Bulgarian football clubs that have never been relegated (the other being Levski Sofia), although the club has been divided into two separate clubs and one of them that carries Slavia records and statistics (Udarnik Sofia) had been expelled to the Second Division, which continued for a season (1951), for no other reason, but politically arranged football reform. 1998 World Cup
The 1998 FIFA World Cup was the 16th FIFA World Cup, the football world championship for men's national teams. The finals tournament was held in France from 10 June to 12 July 1998. The country was chosen as the host nation by FIFA for the second time in the history of the tournament, defeating Morocco in the bidding process. The 2019–20 First Professional Football League, also known as Efbet League for sponsorship reasons, was the 96th season of the top division of the Bulgarian football league system, the 72nd since a league format was adopted for the national competition of A Group as a top tier of the pyramid, and also the 4th season of the First Professional Football League, which decides the Bulgarian champion. Ludogorets Razgrad were the defending champions after winning their 8th consecutive title in the previous season. Bulgarian Cup
The Bulgarian Cup ( bg, Купа на България, Kupa na Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian annual football competition. It is the country's main cup competition and all officially registered Bulgarian football teams take part in it. The tournament's format is ''single-elimination'', with all matches being one-legged, except the semi-finals. The competition's winner gets the right to take part in the UEFA Europa Conference League. If the winner has already secured a place through the Bulgarian A Professional Football Group, the team that has come ''fourth'' in the championship substitutes it. The competition has been dominated by Sofia-based teams. The Sofia teams have won together a total number of 65 titles. The three most successful teams are Levski Sofia (26 cups), CSKA Sofia (21 cups) and Slavia Sofia (8 cups). The current cup holders are Levski Sofia, who beat CSKA Sofia 1–0 in the 2022 final. Vladimir Ivanov (footballer, Born 1973)
Vladimir Ivanov ( bg, Владимир Иванов; born 6 February 1973) is a former Bulgarian footballer who played as a defender. He is also known as "Fugata" ( bg, Фугата). On 3 November 2016, following the departure of Aleksandr Tarkhanov, Ivanov was appointed as permanent manager. However, following a streak of poor results, on 11 May 2017 he was demoted to assistant of the newly appointed manager Zlatomir Zagorčić. In his playing career Ivanov played for Slavia Sofia, Levski Sofia, Lokomotiv Sofia, Lokomotiv Plovdiv and German Borussia Mönchengladbach. Hristo Stoichkov Stoichkov ( bg, Христо Стоичков Стоичков, ; born 8 February 1966) is a Bulgarian former professional footballer who is a football commentator for TUDN. A prolific forward, he is regarded as one of the best players of his generation and is regarded as the greatest Bulgarian footballer of all time. He was runner-up for the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 1992 and 1994, and received the Ballon d'Or in 1994. In 2004, Stoichkov was named by Pelé in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players.
