Ernst Ziegler
Ernst Ziegler (born Ernst Aldoff, 16 April 1894 – 11 April 1974) was a German film and television actor. Biography Ziegler began his film career in 1932, appearing in the German film '' Die verkaufte Braut'' (The Bartered Bride). He went on to act in other German films and on German television. In 1970, he appeared in the American film ''Something for Everyone'', starring Angela Lansbury. His final film role was as Grandpa George (Charlie Bucket's grandfather) in the 1971 film ''Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory''. By this time, Ziegler's health was deteriorating, and he was legally blind, partly as a result of being gassed during the First World War. The Society of the Cincinnati is a fraternal, hereditary society founded in 1783 to commemorate the American Revolutionary War that saw the creation of the United States. Membership is largely restricted to descendants of military officers who served in the Continental Army. The Society has thirteen constituent societies in the United States and one in France. Jacob Ziegler
The humanist and theologian Jacob Ziegler (c. 1470/71 — August 1549) of Landau in Bavaria, was an itinerant scholar of geography and cartographer, who lived a wandering life in Europe. He studied at the University of Ingolstadt, then spent some time at the court of Pope Leo X before he converted to Protestantism; subsequently his geographical works were placed on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum. For a time he taught at Vienna; in his old age, 1545–49, he lived in the house of Wolfgang Salm, Bishop of Passau. His portrait by Wolf Huber (c. 1485-1553), executed about 1540, when he was about seventy years old, is in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. Ignaz Ziegler
Ignaz Ziegler ( hu, Ziegler Ignác; 29 September 1861 in Dolný Kubín, then Hungary – 1948) was an Austrian-Czech rabbi, chief rabbi of Karlovy Vary. He was educated at the Budapest University of Jewish Studies and at the University of Budapest (Ph.D. 1888). Immediately after his graduation he was called to the rabbinate of Carlsbad. Through his efforts the ''Kaiser Franz Josef Regierungs-Jubiläum Hospiz'' was erected at Carlsbad, at a cost of 500,000 Austrian crowns, to provide food, shelter, and medical treatment for indigent Jews who come to that city in large numbers in search of health. This institution was opened on 1 May 1903. Gregorius Thomas Ziegler
Gregorius Thomas Ziegler, bishop of Linz (March 7, 1770 – April 15, 1852), was born at Kirchheim in Schwaben near Augsburg. He joined the Benedictines at Wiblingen Abbey in 1788 and was ordained priest on 25 May 1793. He taught in various Benedictine institutions until he became prior of Wiblingen. After the dissolution of Wiblingen abbey in 1806 he removed with some of his confreres to Tyniec in Poland and taught theology at the neighbouring University of Cracow. When the Benedictines were forced to leave Tyniec in 1809 he was engaged as professor of church history at the Lyceum of Linz, 1809–15, and of theology at Vienna, 1815-22. On 2 February 1822, he became Bishop of the new diocese of Tyniec, but transferred his see to Tarnów, where he began the erection of a seminary and renovated the cathedral. Ronald Louis Ziegler (May 12, 1939 – February 10, 2003) was the 13th White House Press Secretary and Assistant to the President, serving during United States President Richard Nixon's administration. Early life Ziegler was born to Louis Daniel Ziegler, a production manager, and Ruby (Parsons) in Covington, Kentucky. He was raised in the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod denomination. Erich Ziegler (February 20, 1914 – May 6, 2004) was a German politician and resistance activist. He was active in the "Heinz Kapelle Group" during the 1930s. Klaus Martin Ziegler (23 February 1929 – 22 September 1993) was a German choral conductor, organist and Protestant church musician. Career Ziegler was born in Freiburg. He studied music at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe and matriculated from 1948 to 1950 as an examined Kapellmeister. He continued studies of sacred music at the Kirchenmusikalisches Institut Heidelberg from 1950 to 1952 with Wolfgang Fortner, Meinhard Hermann Poppen and .
