Zelah Clarke
Zelah Clarke (born 5 April 1954) is a British actress who has mainly appeared in television productions. Career Clarke had trained as a ballet dancer alongside Jenny Agutter and Fiona Fullerton. She began acting in smaller roles including West End musicals and theatre. She started to work as a television actor in 1972, and her roles include Ceinwen Lloyd in ''How Green Was My Valley'' (1976) and Susan Nipper in ''Dombey and Son'' (1983). She also appeared in the first episode of ''Poldark'' (1975). She is best known for playing Jane Eyre in the 1983 British television serial ''Jane Eyre'', an adaptation of Charlotte Brontë's novel of the same name, produced for the BBC. The serial also starred Timothy Dalton as Edward Rochester. Clarke lamented in an interview that the role of Jane had virtually ended her career. The Duchess Of Duke Street
''The Duchess of Duke Street'' is a BBC television drama series set in London between the late 1800s and 1925. It was created by John Hawkesworth, previously the producer of the ITV period drama ''Upstairs, Downstairs''. It starred Gemma Jones as Louisa Leyton Trotter, the eponymous "Duchess" who works her way up from servant to renowned cook to proprietor of the upper-class Bentinck Hotel in Duke Street, St. James's, in London. The story is loosely based on the real-life career of Rosa Lewis (née Ovenden), the " Duchess of Jermyn Street", who ran the Cavendish Hotel in London, at the corner of Duke St, St. James's. When the show first aired, there were many people who still remembered her, as she lived until 1952. According to census returns, she was born in Leyton, Essex, to a watchmaker. Christopher Biggins
Christopher Kenneth Biggins (born 16 December 1948) is an English actor and television presenter. Early life Biggins was born in Oldham, Lancashire, the son of William and Pamela Biggins. He was brought up in Salisbury, Wiltshire, attended St Probus school where he took elocution lessons and participated in local drama groups. His first lead stage role was at the age of 17 in a Stage '65 production of Molière's ''Le Médecin malgré lui'', leading to work with a local repertory theatre company. Career Television One of Biggins' earliest roles was on ''Upstairs, Downstairs'' in Series 2, as the character Mr. Donaldson in the episode "An Object of Value" (1972). Richard Digby Day (born 27 December 1938) is a British stage director and international professor and lecturer. He is well known for his work in the classical theatre, in particular the plays of William Shakespeare and George Bernard Shaw.
