Zak Stevens
Zachary Trussell (born March 5, 1966), known professionally as Zachary "Zak" Stevens, is an American singer, best known as the second lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Savatage. He currently performs with the heavy metal bands Circle II Circle and Archon Angel. Stevens has a degree in psychology, but is not a practicing psychologist. Career Stevens first achieved fame singing for a band called Wicked Witch (band), Wicked Witch. Chris Caffery
Christopher Caffery (born September 9, 1967) is an American Heavy metal music, heavy metal guitarist, best known for his work as a member of Savatage and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Caffery has been releasing solo records singing and playing guitar for almost 20 years, releasing nine albums and many singles since 2004. Biography Raised in Mahwah, New Jersey, Caffery began playing guitar at age 11, but some of his earliest memories include performing the Beatles song ''Help! (song), Help!'' for a show and tell (education), show and tell in kindergarten. Caffery's favorite bands growing up included the Beatles, Kiss (band), Kiss, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Rush (band), Rush among others. ''Beethoven's Last Night'' is a rock opera by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, released in 2000. The album tells the fictional story of Ludwig van Beethoven on the last night of his life, as the devil, Mephistopheles, comes to collect his soul. With the help of Fate and her son Twist, Beethoven unwittingly tricks the devil and is allowed to keep his soul which he had thought lost, but that the devil had no claim on. The opera features many classical crossover rock songs which are clearly based on melodies from classical music, particularly Beethoven's works. It is the first Trans-Siberian Orchestra album that does not feature Christmas themes. The original cover art was created by Edgar Jerins, and re-issued cover art was created by Greg Hildebrandt. ''Japan Live '94'' (also known as ''Live in Japan'') is a live album and VHS by the American heavy metal band Savatage. The show that was recorded was held in Kawasaki, Japan on November 12, 1994, and was the last show on the short '' Handful of Rain'' tour. The show is noted for featuring Jon Oliva in a prominent role, his first since "leaving" the band in 1992. Oliva has an extended piano intro on "Gutter Ballet" and shares lead vocals with Zachary Stevens, making it his first performance as a lead vocalist with the band for two years. Oliva also performs rhythm guitar on "Hall of the Mountain King". The album was released in Japan in January 1995 by Zero Corporation and features a cover with singer Stevens wearing a T-shirt with a red and white circle and cross. This is the first album since the death of the band's founding member and lead guitarist Criss Oliva, who had contributed to writing on its songs "Taunting Cobras" and "Nothing's Going On" before his death. ''Handful of Rain'' is the band's only release with guitarist Alex Skolnick (who recorded leads), their only one without Johnny Lee Middleton since 1985's ''Power of the Night'' and their first without drummer Steve Wacholz.
