Z. A. Morshed
Z. A. Morshed (died 2013) was an additional deputy inspector general of the Bangladesh Police. He died in the Mirpur textile factory fire in 2013. Career Morshed joined the police cadre from the 12 batch of Bangladesh Civil Service. During the 2001-2006 Bangladesh Nationalist Party rule, Morshed was denied promotions and prestigious postings due to being from Gopalganj District, which is viewed as a stronghold of the opposition Awami League. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party government denied promotions to police officers from Gopalganj District, Faridpur District and religious minority communities. In 2001, he was transferred to the Armed Police Battalion in Bilaychchari, Rangamati District. He went on to serve with the Armed Police Battalion in Uttara and Sylhet. Bangladesh Civil Service (), popularly known by its acronym BCS, is the civil service of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (), popularly abbreviated as BNP (), is a major List of political parties in Bangladesh, political party in Bangladesh. Gopalganj District () is a district in Dhaka Division of Bangladesh. The district has 1,172,415 inhabitants and its surface area is 1,490 km2. The main town of the district is also called Gopalganj. Faridpur District
Faridpur District () is a district in south-central Bangladesh. It is a part of Dhaka Division. It is bounded by the Padma River to the northeast. 2012 Hathazari Violence denotes a series of attacks against the minority Hindu community by the majority Muslim in Hathazari Upazila of Chittagong District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh on the 9 and 10 February 2012. Events On 9 February 2012, the Hindus in the area took out a procession to celebrate the anniversary of the foundation of the Lokenath Sebasram. When the procession was passing a mosque, Muslims in the mosque forbade them to play drums. At one stage, someone hurled a brick bat on the procession. Darus Salam Thana
Darus Salam Thana is a thana, an administrative unit, of Dhaka District, Bangladesh. History During the Bangladesh Liberation war, Bengali intellectuals were killed by Pakistan Army in this area.
