Yanggu, Gangwon
Yanggu County (''Yanggu-gun'') is a county in Gangwon Province, South Korea. The northern part of Yanggu County was part of the front line for much of the Korean War, and now borders the Demilitarized Zone. Several Korean War battle sites are located in Yanggu County, including Bloody Ridge, Heartbreak Ridge, and Hill 1179 (Daeusan). Yanggu is located in what is claimed to be the geographic center of the Korean peninsula. Dochon-ri village in Nam-myeon in Yanggu is called the "navel of Korea". Korea ( ko, 한국, or , ) is a peninsular region in East Asia. Saint-Mandé () is a high-end commune of the Val-de-Marne department in Île-de-France in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the center of Paris. Jianli () is a county-level city of southern Hubei Province, China, located on the northern (left) bank of the Yangtze River and bordering Hunan Province to the south. Chizu, Tottori
is a town located in Yazu District, Tottori Prefecture, Japan. As of 2016, the town has an estimated population of 7,031. The total area is 224.61 km². The population has been steadily declining since the 1970s. Because of this decline, in March 2012 the town closed down six elementary schools and opened a single integrated school. There is also one junior high school and one agricultural and forestry high school. The main industry in the area is logging, woodworking, tourism, and brewing. A sister city or a twin town relationship is a form of legal or social agreement between two geographically and politically distinct localities for the purpose of promoting cultural and commercial ties. The Köppen climate classification is one of the most widely used climate classification systems. It was first published by German-Russian climatologist Wladimir Köppen (1846–1940) in 1884, with several later modifications by Köppen, notably in 1918 and 1936. Battle Of Heartbreak Ridge
The Battle of Heartbreak Ridge (; french: Bataille de Crèvecœur), also known as the Battle of Wendengli (), was a month-long battle in the Korean War which took place between September 13th and October 15th, 1951. After withdrawing from Bloody Ridge, the Korean People's Army (KPA) set up new positions just away on a long hill mass. If anything, the defenses were even more formidable here than on Bloody Ridge.
