Hassan Yussuff
Hassan Yussuff (born December 15, 1957) is a Canadian labour leader and politician. From 2014 to 2021, Yussuff served as president of the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), the first visible minority person to hold the role. In 2021, Yussuff was appointed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to serve as Canadian Senator from Ontario. Early life Yussuff emigrated to Canada from Guyana as a young man to work as a heavy truck mechanic. Once he arrived in Toronto, Yussuff soon found employment on the plant floor of CanCar, a local automotive parts manufacturer. Career Canadian Auto Workers Yussuff first became a member of the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union while at CanCar. Within a year, he was elected plant chairman of Local 252 of the Canadian Auto Workers at the age of 19. Yussuff was later elected plant chairman of the General Motors Truck Centre. Rashid Olatokunbo Oladobe Alao Yussuff (born 23 September 1989) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Chatham Town. Career Early years Yussuff is of Nigerian descent but was born in Poplar, London on 23 September 1989. He is often nicknamed ''Toks'' as an abbreviation of his middle name Olatokunbo. Yussuff began his career as a trainee at Charlton Athletic Academy in July 2006 at the age of 17. He scored eight league goals for the under-18 squad in the 2007–08 Premier Academy League, as well as scoring two goals for the under-18s in the FA Youth Cup. In spite of this, however, he failed to break into the first team and on 1 November 2008 the 19-year-old midfielder was loaned out to Conference side Northwich Victoria on an initial one-month deal. Sultan Yussuf Izzuddin Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Jalil Karamatullah Nasiruddin Mukhataram Shah Radziallah Hu'an-hu, Order of St Michael and St George, KCMG OBE (15 January 1890 – 4 January 1963) was the 32nd Sultan of Perak, whilst it was a part of the Federation of Malaya. Early life and education Raja Yussuf was born on 15 January 1890 at Bukit Chandan, Kuala Kangsar, Perak. He was the eldest son of Abdul Jalil Nasiruddin Muhtaram Shah of Perak, Sultan Abdul Jalil Nasiruddin Mukhataram Shah. Raja Yussuf was educated at Hogan School (later changed to Clifford School), Kuala Kangsar. He was appointed Raja Di Hilir in 1919 and became Raja Bendahara in 1921.
