Yarmouk University
Yarmouk University (), also abbreviated YU, is a comprehensive public and state supported university located near the city centre of Irbid in northern Jordan. Since its establishment in 1976, it has been at the forefront of Jordanian and Middle Eastern universities. The University consists of 15 faculties offering 52 bachelor's degrees, 64 master's degrees, and 18 PhD Programs in different disciplines. The university also hosts 12 research and career centers. As of the Academic Year 2016/2017, the university had 1,004 faculty members and 1,597 staff with 34,651 students in all academic programs (31,282 Undergraduate, 2,807 Postgraduate and 562 Doctoral). Yarmouk (Arabic, اليرموك) is an upmarket neighborhood (67th) located within Mansour district in Baghdad, Iraq. It is adjacent to Baghdad Airport Road. Yarmouk Camp
Yarmouk (, , ) is a district of the city of Damascus, populated by Palestinians. It is located from the center of Damascus and within municipal boundaries; this was not the case when it was established in 1957. It contains hospitals and schools. Yarmouk is an "unofficial" refugee camp (, ), as UNRWA rejected a Syrian government request to recognize the camp in 1960. Now depopulated, it was home to the largest Palestinian refugee community in Syria. As of June 2002, there had been 112,550 registered refugees living in Yarmouk. During the Syrian Civil War, Yarmouk camp became the scene of intense fighting in 2012 between the Free Syrian Army and the PFLP-GC, supported by Syrian government forces. The Yarmuk River (, ; Greek: Ἱερομύκης, ; or ''Heromicas''; sometimes spelled Yarmouk) is the largest tributary of the Jordan River. It runs in Jordan, Syria and Israel, and drains much of the Hauran plateau. Its main tributaries are the wadis of 'Allan and Ruqqad from the north, Ehreir and Zeizun from the east. The Battle of the Yarmuk (also spelled Yarmouk; ) was a major battle between the army of the Byzantine Empire and the Arab Muslim forces of the Rashidun Caliphate. The battle consisted of a series of engagements that lasted for six days in August 636, near the Yarmouk River (also called the Hieromyces River), along what are now the borders of Syria–Jordan and Syria-Israel, southeast of the Sea of Galilee. Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital
Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital is one of the Iraqi hospitals. Located in Baghdad, Al-Karkh, Al-Yarmouk city, besides Al-Mustansiriya medical college (and is considered the teaching hospital for its students). The hospital was established in 1964 and now represents the second largest Iraqi hospital after Baghdad medical city. It is also the largest emergency facility in the country. It has an emergency department and an outpatient clinic besides the medical, surgical (including orthopedics and burn units), obstetrical, oncology section and gynecological wards. ِAlso associated with the hospital highly sophisticated teaching laboratories, radiology ward, blood bank, the national center of haematology and cancer research center.
