Yandex Browser (Russian: Яндекс Браузер) is a freeware web browser developed by the Russian technology corporation Yandex that uses the Blink web browser engine and is based on the Chromium open source project. The browser checks webpage security with the Yandex security system and checks downloaded files with Kaspersky Anti-Virus. The browser also uses Opera Software's Turbo technology to speed web browsing on slow connections. The browser is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. The browser is the second most popular desktop web browser (the third as a mobile browser) in Russia at 21.5%, while it is less popular in most other countries, e.g. in Ukraine fourth at 4.45% and globally has less share than Internet Explorer (which is ninth at 0.64%). Ilya Valentinovich Segalovich (13 September 1964 – 27 July 2013) was a co-founder of Russian company Yandex. He was CTO and director of Yandex since 2000 until his death in 2013. Segalovich proposed the name “Yandex” for the search engine, derived from the idea of “Yet Another iNDEX”. Biography Ilya Segalovich was born in Gorky into a Russian-Jewish family. He graduated from Republican School of Physics and Mathematics in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and then from Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute. DNSChanger
DNSChanger is a DNS hijacking Trojan. The work of an Estonian company known as Rove Digital, the malware infected computers by modifying a computer's DNS entries to point toward its own rogue name servers, which then injected its own advertising into Web pages. At its peak, DNSChanger was estimated to have infected over four million computers, bringing in at least US$14 million in profits to its operator from fraudulent advertising revenue. Both Windows and Mac OS X variants of DNSChanger were circulated, the latter taking the form of a related Trojan known as RSPlug.
