Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach
Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach (Dresden, 3 January 1823 – Hamburg, 6 May 1889) was a botanist and the foremost German orchidologist of the 19th century. His father Heinrich Gottlieb Ludwig Reichenbach (author of ''Icones Florae Germanicae et Helveticae'') was also a well-known botanist. Biography He started his study of orchids at the age of 18 and assisted his father in the writing of ''Icones''. He became a Doctor in Botany with his work on the pollen of orchids (see ‘Selected Works’). Soon after his graduation, Reichenbach was appointed to the post of extraordinary professor of botany at the Leipzig in 1855. He then became director of the botanical gardens at the Hamburg University (1863-1889). At that time, thousands of newly discovered orchids were being sent back to Europe. Marcus Valerius Martialis (known in English as Martial ; March, between 38 and 41 AD – between 102 and 104 AD) was a Roman poet from Hispania (modern Spain) best known for his twelve books of ''Epigrams'', published in Rome between AD 86 and 103, during the reigns of the emperors Domitian, Nerva and Trajan. Xenia was a Yugoslavian pop rock band from Rijeka, active in period 1981–1985 in Yugoslavia. Their discography includes two 7-inch singles singles and two studio albums. Biography The band was formed in 1981 by Vesna Vrandečić and Robert Funčić. Debut album ''Kad nedjelja prođe'' (''When Sunday's Over'') was recorded in "Tira Recording Studio" in Torsby, Sweden, produced by Tihomir Varga, and was released by Jugoton. Two biggest hits from this album were "Iznenadi me" and "Moja prijateljica". ''Xenia'' ( gr, Ξενία lit. Xenia (Greek), xenia) is a 2014 drama film directed by Panos H. Koutras. It was selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, and in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. The Xenia was an American cyclecar designed by P. E. Hawkins of Cleveland and manufactured in Xenia, Ohio in 1914. The factory was Fred Baldner's machine shop, in which Baldner manufactured his own car from 1900 to 1903. The Model 14A was built with the odd combination of an epicyclic gearbox and belt final drive, and was powered by an 1164 cc vee-twin Deluxe engine.
