XHFM-FM (Mexico City)
XEJP-FM is a radio station in Mexico City. Located on 93.7 MHz, XEJP-FM is owned by Grupo Radio Centro and broadcasts contemporary music in Spanish from the 1980s to the present as "Joya 93.7". History XEJP traces its lineage to the first FM radio station in Mexico. In April 1947, the ''Diario Oficial de la Federación'' ran an advisory asking for comments on the proposed award of a station on 94.1 MHz to Federico Obregón Cruces, and while said authorization was given on November 28, 1948, it was not until December 30, 1952 that the concession was awarded and the first FM station in Mexico came to air. "XHFM" broadcast with 3,000 watts and would be alone on the band until the sign-on of XEOY-FM in 1955. The story of Radio Joya, as XHFM was known, was cut short on July 28, 1957, when an earthquake led to the total destruction of its studio facilities. However, the concession lived on. XEEST-AM
XEEST-AM is a radio station on 1440 AM in Mexico City. The station airs Christian programming under the name "Ondas de Vida". History XELZ-AM received its first concession on December 1, 1942, to María Cardona de Zetina. For most of its history under this callsign, it broadcast ranchera music and was known as "Radio LZ". It was sold to Radio Variedades, S.A. in 1961, and became a part of Grupo Radio Centro. In the late 1970s, the tropical format ''Radio AI'' changed from 1320 AM to 1440. By the 1980s, it had adopted the XEEST-AM callsign and was known as "Estudiantes AM", targeting a youth audience with pop in Spanish. This format evolved into "Radio 14-40" in the mid-80s with Spanish-language rock joining the musical mix. XEOC-AM (branded as Radio Chapultepec) is a radio station owned by Grupo Radio Digital in Mexico City. It broadcasts a mixed talk and Tropical music format on 560 AM. History XEOC-AM signed on in 1958, owned by Federico Obregón Cruces and branded as ''Radio Chapultepec''. For years it aired a format of jazz, blues, swing, R&B and other classic genre songs, similar to its competitor XENK-AM 620. XERED-AM is a radio station in Mexico City. Located on 1110 kHz, XERED-AM is owned by Grupo Radio Centro. 1110 AM is a United States clear-channel frequency. History The concession history for XERED-AM begins with XEFO, a radio station launched on December 30, 1930Enrique E. Sánchez Ruiz, "Orígenes de la radiodifusión en México". XEQR-AM (branded as Radio Centro Deportes) is a radio station based in Mexico City. It is owned by Grupo Radio Centro, broadcasting sports programming. History XEFO-AM signed on January 1, 1931, as the radio station of the National Revolutionary Party (later the PRI). In 1941, the PRN sold the station to Francisco Aguirre Jiménez.
