Wristcutters
''Wristcutters: A Love Story'' is a 2006 dark comedy film written and directed by Goran Dukić. It stars Patrick Fugit, Shea Whigham, and Shannyn Sossamon as denizens of a strange afterlife way-station that has been reserved for people who committed suicide. It is based on Etgar Keret's short story "Kneller's Happy Campers." A graphic novel version was titled ''Pizzeria Kamikaze.'' The film was produced on an estimated budget of $1 million. It premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and was distributed in limited release on October 19, 2007, before being expanded into wide release on November 2, 2007. Lionsgate Home Entertainment released it on DVD on March 25, 2008. The film received positive reviews and has since garnered a cult following. Goran Dukić
Goran Dukić is a Croatian film director, screenwriter and actor best known for writing and directing the 2006 film '' Wristcutters: A Love Story''. Early life Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Dukić says that as a child he enjoyed telling stories and was keen to express himself visually, so—not finding painting, writing or theater "dynamic" enough—he became interested in filmmaking and made many amateur short films as a teenager. Shannon Marie Kahololani "Shannyn" Sossamon () is an American actress, director, and musician. Etgar Keret ( he, אתגר קרת, born August 20, 1967) is an Israeli writer known for his short stories, graphic novels, and scriptwriting for film and television. Personal life Keret was born in Ramat Gan, Israel in 1967. He is a third child to parents who survived the Holocaust. Both of his parents are from Poland. He studied at Ohel Shem high school, and at the Adi Lautman Interdisciplinary Programme for Outstanding Students of Tel Aviv University.
