Woodhouse Hill, Huddersfield
Fartown is a district of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England that starts north of the town centre. Fartown runs for approximately either side of the A641 main Huddersfield to Bradford Road. The district area stretches from the top of Woodhouse Hill to the Halifax Old Road with a population of 4,735 according to the 2001 Census. Fartown currently has a multi-ethnic population with a significant percentage of people hailing from South Asian and West Indian backgrounds. Two major hills are also situated in Fartown, Woodhouse Hill towards Sheepridge and York Avenue towards Cowcliffe. North Huddersfield Trust School is situated just off Woodhouse Hill. Woodhouse, Shropshire
Woodhouse is a Grade II* listed country house and 1,500 acre estate in West Felton, Shropshire, England. It was built in 1773–74 by Robert Mylne for William Mostyn Owen. Born William Mostyn, he was the son of William Mostyn the elder and his wife, Grace Wynne. Upon inheriting the estate of Woodhouse from his cousin, John Lloyd Owen, William the younger changed his name to William Mostyn Owen. In 1773, his father William Mostyn the elder had engaged Mylne to design the much more modest Bryngwyn Hall in Powys (then Montgomeryshire), Wales for himself and his wife. Bryngwyn Hall is also a Grade II listed house. Charles Darwin was a frequent visitor from 1828 to 1833. Woodhouse, County Waterford
Woodhouse is a Georgian mansion and c. 500-acre estate just outside the village of Stradbally, County Waterford, Ireland. The original house was built in the early part of the 16th century by the Fitzgeralds (a branch of the Desmond Geraldines) and was owned by them up to 1724. By 1774 it was recorded as being in the possession of the Uniake family, and by the time of Griffith's Valuation in 1868 it was owned by Robert Uniacke and was valued at £52 10s. In 1855 the house came into the ownership of a branch of the Beresford family and in 1894 the house and estate were recorded as the seat of Robert H. Beresford. In 1906 it was the property of John Beresford and still valued at over £52. In 1942, the Irish Tourist Association survey notes that the owner of the house, Major Lord William Beresford was then resident in India. Horsley Woodhouse is a village and civil parish in the Amber Valley district of Derbyshire, in the East Midlands of England. The population of the civil parish taken at the 2011 Census was 1,219. Dronfield Woodhouse is a district of Dronfield, in North East Derbyshire, England. The area has been inhabited since at least the 11th century (Cowley – pronounced Coaley – Farm, to the south) and its main road, Carr Lane, features a 13th-century house, formerly Hall Farm. The 19th-century former primary school on Holmesfield Road is now an elderly care home. Coal mining was an important activity in the village in the 19th and early 20th centuries and the last pit to close was Hurst Hollow in 1947. The current public house, the Miners' Arms, stands opposite the entrance to one of the former mines. Along with mining went Methodism.
