Woodbury is a town in Litchfield County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 9,723 at the 2020 census. The town center, comprising the adjacent villages of Woodbury and North Woodbury, is designated by the U.S. Census Bureau as the Woodbury Center census-designated place (CDP). Woodbury was founded in 1673. The center of Woodbury is distinctive because, unlike many New England towns, it is not nucleated. In Woodbury, the older buildings are arrayed in linear fashion along both sides of a road that stretches for over a mile. The public buildings in the National Register Historic District include the First Congregational Church (1818), the Old Town Hall (1846), the United Methodist Church, the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (1785), and the North Congregational Church (1816). Woodbury is a city in Washington County, Minnesota, United States, eight miles (13 km) east of Saint Paul along Interstate 94. It is part of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. The population was 75,102 at the 2020 census, making it Minnesota's eighth most populous city. History At almost 36 square miles, Woodbury is a direct descendant of one of the congressional townships into which Minnesota Territory when the Native Americans of the United States ceded the territory and opened it to "settlement". Woodbury County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 105,941, making it the sixth-most populous county in Iowa. The county seat is Sioux City. Woodbury County is included in the Sioux City metropolitan area. History Originally established in 1851 as Wahkaw County, the Iowa Legislature in 1853 changed the name to Woodbury County in honor of Levi Woodbury (1789–1851), a senator and governor of New Hampshire who served as a Supreme Court justice from 1844 until his death. Woodbury was a railroad station in Woodbury, New Jersey which operated from 1857–1971. The existing station house was built in 1883 in the Stick style. A new station is proposed for Glassboro–Camden Line on what has become the Vineland Secondary right-of-way. History The station stop was part of planned Camden and Woodbury Railroad, which began in 1837–1838 but ran irregularly and was later abandoned. The West Jersey Railroad (WJ) was granted its charter by the state of New Jersey on February 5, 1853, to build a line from Camden to Cape May. and the directors of the company met on July 15, 1853, to select the route on which they would build. Woodbury is a town in Washington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 928 at the 2020 census. History Woodbury was chartered and settled in the late 18th century. After the U.S. Civil War, granite quarrying became a viable business, and the Hardwick and Woodbury Railroad was built to transport stone from the quarries to finishing shops in nearby Hardwick, which had a rail connection to the outside world. Woodbury's granite finishing business faded away, although granite is still quarried in the town and "Woodbury Gray" granite is still sold. Woodbury is a village and civil parish in East Devon in the English county of Devon, south east of the city of Exeter. At the 2011 Census the village had a population of 1,605, and the parish (which also includes Exton and Woodbury Salterton) had a population of 3,466.
