Women Of Honor
Women of Honor is a term used by Ring of Honor (ROH) to refer to its female talent. The term is applied universally to wrestlers, backstage interviewers, and managers/valets. Promotion and History of Women in ROH (pt.1) Early years and partnership with Shimmer Women Athletes (2002–2011) ROH had its first women's match on June 22, 2002, at its ''Road to the Title'' show. It saw Sumie Sakai defeat Simply Luscious. Women's wrestling in ROH had been sporadic since then. ROH featured female stars like Sara Del Rey, Daizee Haze, Serena Deeb, Mercedes Martinez, Allison Danger and others on shows, even releasing a DVD featuring Del Rey, Haze, Amazing Kong, Mickie James, MsChif, Lacey, and others. Ring Of Honor
Ring of Honor (ROH) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Jacksonville, Florida. The promotion was founded by Rob Feinstein on February 23, 2002, and was operated by Cary Silkin from 2004 until 2011, when the promotion was sold to the Sinclair Broadcast Group. After a deal was struck in March 2022, ROH was officially sold to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) founder, co-owner, president, and CEO Tony Khan two months later. Throughout the 2010s, Ring of Honor was considered a major wrestling promotion in the United States, alongside WWE and Impact Wrestling. Mickie Laree James (born August 31, 1979) Additional January 6, 2017. is an American Professional wrestling, professional wrestler and Country music, country singer. She is currently signed to Impact Wrestling. She has also had tenures in WWE and the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). James began her wrestling career in 1999 as a Glossary of professional wrestling terms#V, valet on the independent circuit, where she was known under the name Alexis Laree. She trained in several camps to improve her wrestling abilities before working for NWA: Total Nonstop Action (NWA: TNA, later Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, now Impact Wrestling) in 2002, where she gained national attention. Mary Louis "Maria" Kanellis-Bennett (born February 25, 1982) is an American professional wrestler, professional wrestling manager, actress, model and former singer, She is best known for her time in Impact Wrestling where she was a member of Honor No More, and is known for her time with Ring of Honor (ROH) and WWE. Athena (wrestler)
Adrienne Reese (born August 31, 1988) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) under the ring name Athena. She also appears in AEW's sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH), where she is the current ROH Women's World Champion in her first reign. Prior to AEW/ROH, she wrestled in WWE, where she worked under the name Ember Moon. While in their developmental territory NXT, she held the NXT Women's Championship and NXT Women's Tag Team Championship, being the first to have held both titles. Leah Vaughan
Leah Vaughan (born October 1, 1987) is a Canadian professional wrestler. She was formerly known as Leah Von Dutch. Professional wrestling career Early career (2011–2012) Vaughan has said "I always wanted to be a wrestler since I was 12 years old. Allysin Kay (born November 5, 1987) is an American professional wrestler, who currently wrestles for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and is a former NWA World Women's Tag Team champion. She is also a one-time NWA World Women's Champion. Sara Del Ray
Sara Ann Amato (born November 13, 1980) is an American professional wrestling trainer and retired professional wrestler, best known by her ring name Sara Del Rey. She was a mainstay for Chikara and Shimmer, but also appeared for many other independent promotions in the US, including Ring of Honor (ROH), IWA Mid-South and All Pro Wrestling, as well as Mexico's Lucha Libre Femenil. Del Rey also taped several matches, competing under a mask and using the name Nic Grimes, for the MTV promotion Wrestling Society X. Del Rey was the inaugural Shimmer Champion and co-holder of the Shimmer Tag Team Championship with Courtney Rush, making her the promotion's first double champion.
