Franz-Erich Wolter is a German computer scientist, chaired professor at Leibniz University Hannover, with research contributions especially in computational (differential) geometry and haptic/tactile Virtual reality. He currently heads the Institute of Man-Machine Communication and is the Dean of Studies in Computer Science at Leibniz University Hannover. He is the founder and actual director of the Welfenlab research laboratory. ''America Unearthed'' was an American entertainment television series, the first original series to air on the A&E Networks channel H2. The show premiered on December 21, 2012, and was produced by Committee Films of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The program was hosted by Minnesota-based geologist Scott Wolter, who investigates mysteries and artifacts believed to reveal an alternative history of the North American continent before the United States. The show was cancelled following the sale of H2. The Travel Channel revived the series for ten episodes, again hosted by Wolter. The series broadcast in 2019 and was canceled after just one season. Ralf Wolter (26 November 1926 – 14 October 2022) was a German stage and screen actor. Wolter appeared in nearly 220 films and television series in his over 60 years as a character actor. Life and career Wolter began his long career on the Berlin stage and in cabaret during the late 1940s. He made his first film appearance in ''Die Frauen des Herrn S.'' and quickly achieved prominence as an actor for comedic supporting roles. In 1961, he appeared as the baldheaded Soviet agent Borodenko in Billy Wilder's comedy ''One, Two, Three'' with James Cagney and Horst Buchholz. Adolph Gustav Wolter von Ruemelin (September 7, 1903 – October 15, 1980), transplanted sculptor in Indiana, was born on September 7, 1903, in Reutlingen (Baden-Württemberg), Germany, in the southern region of that country. The second of three sons, he was educated in the local schools and confirmed in the town's Roman Catholic Church where his father Karl Wolter was chief sculptor. He graduated from the local school, and as a teenager attended the community's technical school () serving a three-year sculpturing apprenticeship with his father where he studied architecture, stone, and metal. In due course he matriculated to the Academy of Fine Arts (now called ) in Stuttgart, where students enjoyed a reputation for their self-motivation and initiative. Wolter (or Walter) von Plettenberg (c. 1450 – February 28, 1535) was the Master (''Landmeister'') of the Livonian Order from 1494 to 1535 and one of the greatest leaders of the Teutonic knights. He was an important early Baltic German. Biography Wolter von Plettenberg was born in Welver (in Meyerich Castle), Westphalia. Belonging to the House of Plettenberg, he was the first child of his father Berthold von Plettenberg and his mother Gosteke Lappe, but had at least seven siblings. Michel Wolter (born 13 September 1962 in Luxembourg City) is a Luxembourgian politician. He was the youngest-ever member of the Chamber of Deputies when elected in 1984, and served as Minister for the Interior from 1995 to 2004. He is also a businessman and a former international table tennis player. Michel Wolter grew up in Esch-sur-Alzette, second largest city of the country. Charlotte Wolter (March 1, 1834June 14, 1897), Austrian actress, was born at Cologne, and began her artistic career at Budapest in 1857. Thomas Wolter (born 4 October 1963) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder or a defender, and the current manager of SV Werder Bremen's youth academy. Club career Born in Hamburg, Wolter arrived at SV Werder Bremen in the summer of 1984, from local amateurs Hamburg Eimsbütteler Ballspiel Club.
