Wise After The Event
''Wise After the Event'' is the second studio album by English musician and composer Anthony Phillips, released in May 1978 on Arista Records in the United Kingdom and in June 1978 on Passport Records in the United States. After promoting his previous album '' The Geese & the Ghost'' (1977), Phillips began to prepare material for a new album. It remains his only album that features himself on lead vocals on each track. Production In March 1977, Phillips released his debut solo album, '' The Geese & the Ghost''. Around the time it was put out, Phillips did consider furthering his education and return to music college but the album "did enough" for him to continue with making albums. Phillips recalled that the rise in punk rock in England at the time of ''The Geese & the Ghost'' increased the pressure for him to write more commercial songs and deliver hit singles. Anthony Phillips
Anthony Edwin Phillips (born 23 December 1951) is an English musician, songwriter, producer and singer who gained prominence as the original lead guitarist of the rock band Genesis, from 1967 to 1970. He left in July 1970 and learned to play more instruments, before he began a solo career. His departure from Genesis on the eve of the group's breakthrough to mainstream popularity has led him to be popularly dubbed "the Pete Best of progressive rock" (though unlike Best, Phillips left voluntarily). Phillips released his first solo album, '' The Geese & the Ghost'', in 1977. He continues to release solo material, including further solo albums, television and film music, collaborations with several artists, and compilation albums of his recordings. Virgin Records is a record label owned by Universal Music Group. It originally founded as a British independent record label in 1972 by entrepreneurs Richard Branson, Simon Draper, Nik Powell, and musician Tom Newman (musician), Tom Newman. ''The Times of Northwest Indiana'' (NWI) is a daily newspaper headquartered in Munster, Indiana. It is the second-largest newspaper in Indiana, behind only ''The Indianapolis Star''. History The paper was founded on June 18, 1906, as ''The Lake County Times''. Its founder, Simon McHie, was a native of a small town along the Niagara River in Canada. In 1933, the name was changed to ''The Hammond Times'', and it became an afternoon paper serving Hammond, Whiting, and East Chicago. In May 1962, the McHie family sold the publication to Robert S. Howard of Howard Publications. The paper expanded to all of northwest Indiana in 1967 and dropped Hammond from its masthead to become simply ''The Times''.
