Winfried Berkemeier
Winfried Berkemeier (born 22 January 1953 in Gronau (Westf.)) is a former German footballer. This midfielder and forward played six seasons in the Bundesliga for four teams. Though he was unable to break through with 1. FC Köln, he played with Tennis Borussia Berlin and through the whole of his first season only missed one game. Berkemeier had little luck, however, since with four of the teams he joined, they were to immediately be demoted from the 1. Bundesliga, amongst these occasions being in 1977 with Tennis Borussia Berlin, in 1979 with 1. FC Nürnberg and in 1981 with FC Schalke 04. Berkemeier then moved to Switzerland and played for Young Boys and then for Basel before he became a manager in 1984. Sir Winfried Franz Wilhelm "Win" Bischoff (born 10 May 1941) is an Anglo- German banker and former chairman of Lloyds Banking Group. He previously served as chairman and interim CEO of Citigroup in 2007. He was succeeded as CEO by Vikram Pandit on 11 December 2007. Bischoff stepped down as chairman on 23 February 2009 and was replaced by Richard Parsons. He has dual British and German citizenship. Bischoff was knighted in 2000. Winfried Bönig (born 1959 in Bamberg) is a German organist. Bönig studied organ and church music at the ''Musikhochschule München'' with ''Franz Lehrndorfer'' from 1978 to 1984. Winfried Brugger (26 February 1950 in Tettnang, Germany – 13 November 2010 in Heidelberg) was Professor of Public Law, Philosophy of Law and Theory of State at Heidelberg University. Winfried Denk (born November 12, 1957 in Munich) is a German physicist. He built the first two-photon microscope while he was a graduate student (and briefly a postdoc) in Watt W. Webb's lab at Cornell University, in 1989. Early life and education Denk was born in Munich, Germany. As a child he spent most of his playtime learning to use the tools and building materials in his father's workshop. In school it became apparent that Denk’s ‘talents were unevenly spread across subjects, math and physics being favored’. Fixing and constructing electronic devices was his main hobby throughout high school. Winfried Glatzeder (born 26 April 1945) is a German television actor and playwright. He began his acting career in East Germany in the 1960s. In the early 1970s, he made his breakthrough by starring in films such as '' Zeit der Störche'' and '' The Legend of Paul and Paula''. Winfried Kretschmann (born 17 May 1948) is a German politician serving as Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg since 2011. A member of the Alliance '90/Greens, he was President of the Bundesrat and ''ex officio'' deputy to the President of Germany from 2012 to 2013. He is the first member of the Greens to serve in these offices. Identifying himself as a green conservative, Kretschmann has been associated with both culturally and economically liberal policies. Winfried Michel (born 1948 in Fulda) is a German recorder player, composer, and editor of music. Michel studied with Ingetraud Drescher, Nikolaus Delius, and Frans Brüggen. He is lecturer for the recorder at the Staatliche Hochschule Münster and at the Musikakademie Kassel. In addition to compositions published under his own name, he has written numerous pieces in the style of the early 18th century under the pseudonym Giovanni Paolo Simonetti. In 1993 he succeeded in convincing noted Haydn scholar H. C. Robbins Landon and the pianist/scholars Paul and Eva Badura-Skoda that six piano sonatas he had composed were long-lost works by Joseph Haydn. Winfried Nachtwei (born 15 April 1946 in Wulfen) is a German politician and former member of Alliance '90/The Greens in the Bundestag. He is an expert on the Afghanistan conflict and works as a peace and conflict consultant since leaving the Bundestag. His nickname is "Winni". Winfried Otto Schumann (May 20, 1888 – September 22, 1974) was a German physicist and electrical engineer who predicted the Schumann resonances, a series of low-frequency resonances caused by lightning discharges in the atmosphere. Biography Winfried Schumann was born in Tübingen, Germany, the son of a physical chemist. His early years were spent in Kassel and in Berndorf, a town near Vienna.
