Willow is an unincorporated community in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The community is located within Huron Charter Township. As an unincorporated community, Willow has no legally defined boundaries or population statistics of its own. Geography The community sits at an elevation of above sea level. According to road signage, the community is centered along Willow Road between Waltz Road on the west and a double set of railroad tracks to the east. Willow is located close to three divisions of the Huron–Clinton Metroparks system: Lower Huron, Oakwoods, and Willow. The Huron River flows near the community, and Interstate 275 is slightly east but has no access from Willow Road. The community of Waltz is to the south, and New Boston is to the north. Willow Metropark
Willow Metropark is a park in the Huron-Clinton Metroparks system, located on the banks of the Huron River between Lower Huron Metropark to the northwest and Oakwoods Metropark to the southeast. The park consists of a wide variety of trails and recreational areas, including an 18-hole golf course, the Washago Pond, hike/bike trails, a disc golf course,a children's play area, a pool, and a kayak/canoe launch, in addition to groomed cross country ski trails in the winter months. Waltz, Michigan
Waltz is an unincorporated community in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located within Huron Charter Township approximately southwest of Detroit. As an unincorporated community, Waltz has no defined boundaries or population statistics of its own. The community was first settled in 1857 when Joseph Waltz, Sr., moved his family from Detroit to a plot of farmland. The original farm was located along Territorial Road (now Waltz Road) just north of the Wayne– Monroe county line. When the elder Waltz died in 1865, the property was left to his widow Mary, who later deeded it to Joseph Waltz, Jr., in 1867. In 1872, the area of Waltz was platted. Interstate 275 (I-275) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway in the US state of Michigan that acts as a western bypass of the Detroit metropolitan area. The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) maintains the highway as part of the larger State Trunkline Highway System. The freeway runs through the western suburbs near Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, and crosses several rivers and rail lines in the area.
