Will Wagstaff
William Wagstaff, commonly known as Will Wagstaff, is a British ornithologist and naturalist in the Isles of Scilly, and also an author. His popular guided wildlife walks have made him both a well-known and popular figure in the islands. Originally from South Wales, Wagstaff has lived on the Isles of Scilly since 1981. He has had an active role in conservation work around the islands for more than 20 years, and has led guided wildlife walks there since 1985. He is currently Honorary President and Chairman of the Isles of Scilly Bird Group and regularly presents slideshows and leads other events on the islands. He also writes a regular column ''A Walk on the Wild Side'' for the local magazine Scilly Now & Then. He is a Tour Leader for Island Holidays and runs the Island Wildlife Tours group. Ornithologist
Ornithology is a branch of zoology that concerns the "methodological study and consequent knowledge of birds with all that relates to them." Several aspects of ornithology differ from related disciplines, due partly to the high visibility and the aesthetic appeal of birds. Isles Of Scilly
The Isles of Scilly (; kw, Syllan, ', or ) is an archipelago off the southwestern tip of Cornwall, England. One of the islands, St Agnes, is the most southerly point in Britain, being over further south than the most southerly point of the British mainland at Lizard Point. The total population of the islands at the 2011 United Kingdom census was 2,203. Scilly forms part of the ceremonial county of Cornwall, and some services are combined with those of Cornwall. However, since 1890, the islands have had a separate local authority. Since the passing of the Isles of Scilly Order 1930, this authority has had the status of a county council and today is known as the Council of the Isles of Scilly. Scilly Now & Then
''Scilly Now & Then'' is a community magazine distributed throughout the Isles of Scilly. It was launched in the spring of 2006. Content The magazine is aimed at both locals and visitors. Local interest contributions are submitted by numerous public bodies including the police, harbourmaster, Five Islands School, fire service, health centre, local AONB and Member of Parliament, Derek Thomas. There are also contributions from the local RSPB officer and Chairman of the Council of the Isles of Scilly. Falkland Islands
The Falkland Islands (; es, Islas Malvinas, link=no ) is an archipelago in the South Atlantic Ocean on the Patagonian Shelf. The principal islands are about east of South America's southern Patagonian coast and about from Cape Dubouzet at the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula, at a latitude of about 52°S. Radio Scilly
Islands FM, previously known as Radio Scilly, is a non-profit community radio station. Originally launched as Radio Scilly in September 2007, the station broadcasts to the residents of the Isles of Scilly. Radio Scilly rebranded as Islands FM on 31 January 2020. History Radio Scilly was launched in September 2007, and was founded by Keri Jones, who had previously launched Radio Pembrokeshire. In January 2016, Jones announced he would be leaving the station, and that his position would be taken up by his colleague Zoe Parry. In January 2019, three months after Parry passed on ownership of the station to Beth and Steve Sims in October 2018, it was announced that Radio Scilly would be closing in March unless someone else took on ownership of the station, due to the management team no longer being able to run it.
