Will Carruthers
Will Carruthers (born 9 November 1967, in Chesterfield, England) is a musician, best known for playing bass in the influential alternative rock bands Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized. Biography Early life Carruthers moved to Rugby in 1977, and joined St Mark's Junior school. After leaving Lawrence Sheriff School at the age of 16, he went to work in a sheet metal factory in Birmingham, and it was then he began to teach himself to play bass. He then moved back to Rugby, and became involved in the local music scene, joining the local band, The Cogs of Tyme. Carruthers plays a 1976 Gibson Thunderbird electric bass guitar. Spacemen 3 Carruthers joined Spacemen 3, replacing bassist Pete Bain, in 1988. One of his first gigs was the performance that would represent the live ''Dreamweapon'' album. Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Chesterfield is a market town and unparished area in the Borough of Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, north of Derby and south of Sheffield at the confluence of the River Rother and River Hipper. Lake District

Slipstream (band)
Slipstream are an English indie rock band, not to be confused with the American band "The Slipstream", were formed in 1994 after Mark Refoy left Spiritualized. The band consisted of Ian Anderson on guitar, Gary Lennon on bass, Steve Beswick on drums and occasional appearances from Jonny Mattock who had also stopped drumming for Spiritualized later that year. Over the following five years the band released two albums, ''Slipstream'' and ''Be Groovy Or Leave'', and a compilation CD, ''Side Effects'', all on Ché Trading. In 1999, the band ceased recording after releasing a final single, "Everything And Anything", on the Enraptured label. The track featured on the soundtrack to the BBC Three sitcom, ''Ideal'' starring Johnny Vegas. The Darkside
The Darkside (or Darkside) were an indie rock band formed in 1989 by former members of Spacemen 3. After releasing two studio albums they split up in 1993. History The band formed in Rugby in 1989 and was led by Pete Bain (aka Bassman), who had left Spacemen 3 just before their 1989 album '' Playing With Fire''. Bain was then joined in the new outfit by his former bandmate, drummer Sterling Roswell (aka Rosco). Vocals were initially handled by Nick Hayden, but his departure forced Bain to assume that role. The group were signed to Beggars Banquet Records offshoot Situation Two throughout their existence. Contrary to much of what is written about the band, Hayden has always claimed he was a founding member, once played with Spacemen 3 himself and wrote most of the band's early material (although credited to 'The Darkside' on record labels). The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American musical project and band led and started by Anton Newcombe. It was formed in San Francisco in 1990. The group was the subject of the 2004 documentary film called '' Dig!'', and have gained media notoriety for their tumultuous working relationships as well as the erratic behavior of Newcombe. The collective has released 18 albums, five compilation albums, five live albums, 13 EPs, 18 singles as well as two various-artist compilation albums to date.
