Where Atilla Passes
''Where Atilla Passes'' (french: Là où Atilla passe) is a Canadian drama film, directed by Onur Karaman and released in 2015. The film stars Émile Schneider (actor), Émile Schneider as Atilla, the Turkey, Turkish-born adopted son of Québécois people, Québécois couple Michel (Roy Dupuis) and Julie (Julie Deslauriers). Suffering from social anxiety and haunted by a vague inchoate memory of the family tragedy that led to his adoption, he is slowly drawn out of his shell by his interactions with Ahmet (Cansel Elçin), his new Turkish immigrant coworker, and Asya (Dilan Gwyn), a young woman with whom he begins a new romantic relationship. The film premiered in November 2015 at the Festival du cinéma international en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, before going into general theatrical release in early 2016. Onur Karaman
Onur Karaman (born 1981) is a Turkey, Turkish-born Canada, Canadian film director and screenwriter. He is best known for his films ''Where Atilla Passes (Là où Atilla passe)'' and ''Breathe (2022 film), Breathe (Respire)''. Karaman moved to Canada with his family in childhood. Québec Cinéma presents an annual award for Best Actor (french: Prix Iris de la meilleure interprétation dans un premier rôle masculin) to recognize the best in the Cinema of Quebec. 19th Quebec Cinema Awards
The 19th Quebec Cinema Awards ceremony was held on 4 June 2017, hosted by actors Guylaine Tremblay and Édith Cochrane, to recognize talent and achievement in the Cinema of Quebec. Marcel Giroux
Marcel Giroux is a Canadian film producer. He co-founded the company GPA Films in Montreal with André Pelletier in 1983, using it to make documentary films, advertisements, music videos and other productions. In 1989, after Pelletier died, Giroux shifted the company's focus to feature films and television. In 1997, he was nominated for the Genie Award for Best Live-Action Short Film for ''Zie 37 Stage''. While many producers considered the novel ''The Little Girl Who Was Too Fond of Matches'' by Gaétan Soucy a poor choice for basing a film on, Giroux purchased the rights. He asked director Simon Lavoie if he would be interested in such a project in 2013; Lavoie claimed to be a fan of the novel and accepted the offer. On 26 April 2016, Telefilm Canada announced financial support for Giroux's production.
