Western Morava
West Morava ( sr, Западна Морава, Zapadna Morava, ) is a river in Central Serbia, a 184 km-long headstream of the Great Morava, which it forms with the South Morava. It was known as Brongus in antiquity. Origin The West Morava originates in the Tašti field, east of the town of Požega, from the Golijska Moravica and Đetinja headstreams. Đetinja receives from the left its main tributary, the Skrapež. Less than a kilometer after the confluence, it meets the Golijska Moravica flowing from the south, forming the West Morava. Given the proximity of the confluences of Đetinja, Skrapež and Golijska Moravica, some sources consider all three rivers to be direct headstreams of the West Morava River. Following the direction of the course, the Đetinja is a natural headstream of the West Morava. But, since Golijska Moravica is 23 km longer, the latter is considered as the main headstream. Golija
Golija ( sr-Cyrl, Голија, ) is a mountain in southwestern Srbija, Serbia, between towns of Ivanjica and Novi Pazar. It is part of the Dinarides, Dinaric mountain range. The mountain is heavily forested with significant biodiversity. It contains the Golija-Studenica Biosphere Reserve, the first UNESCO-Programme on Man and the Biosphere, MAB registered biosphere reserve in Serbia. Gruža (region)
The Gruža (Serbian Cyrillic: Гружа, ) is a geographical region in central Serbia. This region, containing a village of the same name, is poetically referred to as the ''Heart of Šumadija''. Geography The Gruža is a micro-region and makes the southern part of the Šumadija region of central Serbia (also called ''High Šumadija''). It is bounded by the West Pomoravlje to the south, the mountain of Gledićke planine and the Levač region to the east, the Takovo and Lepenica regions to the north and the Kotlenik mountain to the west. The Morava Valley ( sr, Поморавље / ''Pomoravlje'', ), is a general term which in its widest sense marks valleys of any of three Morava rivers in Serbia: the West Morava (West Morava Valley), the South Morava ( South Morava Valley) and the Great Morava ( Great Morava Valley). In the narrow sense, the term is applied only to the Great Morava Valley ( sr, Велико Поморавље / ''Veliko Pomoravlje''). The Serbian term follows the general manner of coining river valley names in Serbian using the prefix ''po-'' and suffix ''-je'', meaning literally "(land) along the Morava".
