Wendy Waldman
Wendy Waldman (born November 29, 1950) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Biography Early life Waldman (born Wendy Steiner) grew up in the Los Angeles area. She was raised in a musical environment: her father Fred Steiner was a composer who wrote the theme music for Perry Mason and The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. Her mother was a professional violinist. In 1969 she married her first husband Ken Waldman, and changed her name to Wendy Waldman. Bryndle Waldman's first recordings were made in 1970 as a part of Bryndle. Other group members included Karla Bonoff, Andrew Gold, and Kenny Edwards. When the group disbanded, she signed with Warner Bros. Records. Bryndle re-formed in the early 1990s and released two albums before disbanding again in the mid 2000s. MusicMasters was a record label based in Ocean, New Jersey. History MusicMasters was founded in the late 1970s by Albert Nissim and his sons Robert and Jeffrey, who owned the Musical Heritage Society, which had previously only licensed European recordings for sale via mail-order. MusicMasters produced recordings from 1981 until 1999, which were sold by mail-order and retail by the Music Heritage Society. Initially, MusicMasters produced classical records, but began releasing jazz in 1985, when they obtained the rights to previously unreleased Yale University Library recordings by Benny Goodman. Heartbeat (Wendy Waldman Song)
"Heartbeat" is a 1982 song written by Eric Kaz and Wendy Waldman. It was first recorded by Waldman and released on her 1982 album ''Which Way to Main Street''. That same year, Australian-American singer Helen Reddy recorded the song for her 1983 album ''Imagination'', the song failed to chart. The most famous rendition of the song is a 1986 cover of the song by Don Johnson, which was released as a single and included on Johnson's album ''Heartbeat''. Johnson's cover became an international hit, peaking at number five on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and charting highly in many European countries. Deborah Holland is an American-Canadian singer-songwriter. She rose to national prominence in 1987 as the lead singer and songwriter of Animal Logic featuring Stanley Clarke and Stewart Copeland. Cidny Bullens (formerly Cindy Bullens; born March 21, 1950) is an American singer-songwriter, who is best known for serving as backup vocalist on tours and albums with Elton John and Rod Stewart, as well as providing vocals on the soundtrack of the 1978 feature film '' Grease''. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is an American country rock band formed in 1966. The group has existed in various forms since its founding in Long Beach, California. Between 1976 and 1981, the band performed and recorded as the Dirt Band. Constant members since the early times are singer-guitarist Jeff Hanna and drummer Jimmie Fadden. Multi-instrumentalist John McEuen was with the band from 1966 to 1986 and returned during 2001, staying 16 years, then departing again in November 2017.
