Wen-Pin Hope Lee
Wen-Pin Hope Lee (; born 1967) is a Hoklo Taiwanese contemporary music composer and Professor. His works comprise a variety of genres, including symphonies, theatre, dance, solo works, chamber music, computer music, and multimedia performance art. In 2004 he began his Taiwan Series of compositions: a body of work inspired by Taiwanese culture, including Indigenous peoples and Hakka melodies, sung texts in Taiwanese, and the ambient sounds of Taiwan locales. Lee is the winner of the 2006 Golden Melody Award for Best Composer of Traditional and Artistic Music and a nominee for the 2007 Golden Melody Award for his recording of his five-act theatre dance piece ''Hsiahai City God through Water of Mengjia''. In 2013, Lee won an award for his collaborative work with Radio Taiwan International on “''Happiness on March''” at 48th Golden Bell Awards. Artist
An artist is a person engaged in an activity related to creating art, practicing the arts, or demonstrating an art. 17th Golden Melody Awards
The 17th Golden Melody Awards were held on 10 June 2006 at the Taipei Arena in Taipei, Taiwan. Summary Although Alternative rock, alternative musicians were nominated several times for awards, most of the categories were won by mainstream artists. The award ceremony featured South Korean pop singer Seven (Korean singer), Se7en as a guest artist. Chinese American rap artist Jin (rapper), Jin also performed with Taiwanese American singer Leehom Wang for their song titled ''Heroes of Earth''. The ''Taipei Times'' also dubbed the ceremony as having one of the "worst performances to date" due to poorly rehearsed performances by Singaporean artist Stefanie Sun and Hong Kong singer Eason Chan. The 2009 Summer Deaflympics (), officially known as the XXI Summer Deaflympic Games and commonly known as Taipei 2009, is an international multi-sport event that was celebrated from 5 to 15 September 2009 in Taipei, Taiwan (Republic of China). It is the third Summer Deaflympics to be held in the Asia-Pacific region. Judo, karate, and taekwondo have been recognized as new summer disciplines in the Deaflympics sports competition program.
