Welsh Target Shooting Federation
The Welsh Target Shooting Federation ( cy, Ffederasiwn Saethu Targedau Cymru) (WTSF) is the governing body for shooting sports in Wales. The Federation is based within the Sport Wales National Centre in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. The WTSF represents and supports its member bodies in promoting and developing shooting sports in Wales, engaging with Sport Wales, Team Wales, the Welsh Government, British Shooting and others. Shooting sports is a group of competitive and recreational sporting activities involving proficiency tests of accuracy, precision and speed in shooting — the art of using ranged weapons, mainly small arms (firearms and airguns, in forms such as handguns, rifles and shotguns) and bows/crossbows. Sport Wales National Centre
The Sport Wales National Centre ( cy, Canolfan Genedlaethol Chwaraeon Cymru) is a sports facility in Cardiff, Wales, set up to assist the development of elite athletes in Wales. The Centre, owned and operated by Sport Wales, was established by the then Sports Council for Wales in 1971 as the National Sports Centre for Wales. Renamed the Welsh Institute of Sport in 1994, it has been known as the Sport Wales National Centre since April 2010. National Shooting Centre
The National Shooting Centre is the UK's largest shooting sports complex, comprising several shooting ranges as well as the large "Bisley Camp" complex of accommodation, clubhouses and support services. The centre is located near the village of Bisley in Surrey from which it takes its colloquial name "Bisley ranges". The site is wholly owned by the National Rifle Association (NRA). European Shooting Championships
The European Shooting Championships are the global sport shooting European championships as regards the disciplines of the sport shooting of the rifle (25, 50 and 300 m) and the pistol (25 and 50 m). Sometimes the competition also includes trap shooting, skeet and running target shooting events, usually organized in special championships. The championships are by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) in collaboration with the European Shooting Confederation (ESC). The first edition of the championships took place in 1955 in Bucharest. It takes place biennially, but every year 2-4 special championships held for European countries in separate shooting disciplines.
