Tim Wedderburn (born June 29, 1981) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Playing career Wedderburn played major junior hockey with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League, then went on to play 10 seasons of professional hockey in North America and Europe. Wedderburn Castle, near Duns, Berwickshire, in the Scottish Borders, is an 18th-century country house that is now used as a wedding and events venue. The house is a Category A listed building and the grounds are included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland. Wedderburn, Oregon
Wedderburn is an unincorporated coastal community in Curry County, Oregon, United States. It is to the north of, and across the mouth of the Rogue River from Gold Beach, on U.S. Route 101. The Isaac Lee Patterson Bridge connects Wedderburn with Gold Beach. Wedderburn was founded by R. D. Hume, a prominent local businessman in the fishing industry, who named the community after the home of his ancestors, Wedderburn Castle in Scotland. Wedderburn post office was established in 1895. Wedderburn was originally a company town for Hume's salmon fishing monopoly, and besides his fishing fleet, he ran Wedderburn's cannery, store, race track and cold storage plant. Hume had settled at the mouth of the Rogue in 1876, and he eventually owned all the land on both banks of the river from the Pacific Ocean to the head of the tidewater. Wedderburn, New Zealand
Wedderburn is a community in Central Otago, New Zealand. It is located 15 kilometres northwest of Ranfurly, and was at one time close to the centre of a thriving gold and coal mining area. The name of Wedderburn was given to the area by John Turnbull Thomson, and is one of the names in his infamous " Thomson's Barnyard", wedder being Northumbrian dialect form of the word wether, meaning a castrated sheep. Wedderburn is on State Highway 85 close to the Otago Central Rail Trail. Originally a coaching stop, Wedderburn became a terminus on the Otago Central Railway in 1921 and was the headquarters for the Public Works Department during construction of this section of the line. The section through Wedderburn was eventually abandoned due to a decline in traffic. Wedderburn is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Wedderburn is located 57 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Campbelltown and is part of the Macarthur region. Wedderburn is the only Campbelltown suburb on the right bank of the Georges River. The steep gorge and heavy bush, gives it a small country town atmosphere, rather than a suburb. The causeway on Wedderburn Road, which provides the main link to Campbelltown, is known to flood during heavy rain, increasing Wedderburn's isolation. Wedderburn is a rural town in Victoria, Australia on the Calder Highway, north of Victoria's capital city, Melbourne. At the , Wedderburn had a population of 680. It is mainly a farming community but its early residents were gold miners and prospectors. Alexander Allan Innes "Zander" Wedderburn (9 May 1935 – 23 February 2017) was a British psychologist and Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the Heriot-Watt University. Early life In May 1935, Wedderburn was born in Edinburgh. Wedderburn's father was Alexander Archibald Innes Wedderburn, a lawyer and auditor to the Court of Session. Wedderburn's mother was Ellen Innes Jeans. Education Wedderburn graduated from Exeter College, Oxford in 1959 and was awarded a PhD by Heriot-Watt in 1992. Career Between 1968 and 2000, Wedderburn lectured at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. After his retirement, Wedderburn founded publishing company Fledgling Press. Sir William Wedderburn, 4th Baronet, JP DL (25 March 1838 – 25 January 1918) was a British civil servant and politician who was a Liberal Party member of Parliament (MP). Kenneth William Wedderburn, Baron Wedderburn of Charlton, (13 April 1927 – 9 March 2012) was a British politician and member of the House of Lords, affiliated with the Labour Party. He briefly became a crossbench member, citing his dislike of Blairism and 'the smell' of cash for questions. He re-took the Labour Party whip in 2007. He worked at the University of Cambridge and the London School of Economics, where he was the Cassel Professor of Commercial Law from 1964 until his retirement in 1992.
