Webster is a census-designated place located in Rostraver Township, Pennsylvania, Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, Westmoreland County in the state of Pennsylvania, United States. The community is located along Pennsylvania Route 906. It was laid out in 1833 by Benjamin Beazell, and named for the Federalist statesman Daniel Webster. Westmoreland County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 364,663. The county seat is Greensburg. Formed from, successively, Lancaster, Northumberland, and later Bedford counties, Westmoreland County was founded on February 26, 1773, and was the first county in the colony of Pennsylvania whose entire territorial boundary was located west of the Allegheny Mountains. Rostraver Township is a township in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 11,374 at the 2020 census. History Rostraver Township is in the southwestern corner of Westmoreland County and is the location of the Household No. 1 Site, which was once occupied by a Monongahela village. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The name of the township has been traced back to Rostrevor, a seaside community in County Down, now in Northern Ireland. It is known that some of the early settlers, such as the McClains, came from County Down so it is surmised that they probably named their new community out of affection for the native village and spelled it phonetically as Rostraver Unfortunately, they neglected to leave to posterity any record of having done so. Pennsylvania Route 906 (PA 906) is a state highway located in Fayette, Westmoreland, and Allegheny Counties in Pennsylvania. The southern terminus is at PA 201 in Washington Township. The northern terminus is at PA 136 in Forward Township. Route description PA 906 begins at an intersection with PA 201 in the community of Naomi in Washington Township, Fayette County, heading northwest on two-lane undivided Naomi Road. The road heads between homes to the west and woods to the east, passing through more wooded areas as it runs to the northeast of CSX's Mon Subdivision railroad line and the Monongahela River. The route becomes Fayette City Road and heads into the borough of Belle Vernon, where it heads farther from the railroad line and river as it runs past homes and industrial areas.
