Wealdstone F.C.
Wealdstone Football Club ( ) is an English semi-professional football club based in Ruislip, London Borough of Hillingdon, and affiliated to the Middlesex County Football Association. They currently play in the National League, the fifth tier of English football, having been promoted as champions of the National League South for the 2019-20 season. While established in 1899, it has roots dating to 1887 and was created through a series of local mergers in Wealdstone, then in Middlesex. For most of its existence the club was based at Lower Mead stadium in Harrow, until 1991. After a long period of homelessness and ground sharing with various local clubs, since 2008 they have been based at Grosvenor Vale. Their traditional colours are royal blue and white, and they are nicknamed "The Stones" or "The Royals". Stuart Maynard
Stuart Maynard (born 18 October 1980) is an English football manager and former player who is the manager of National League club Wealdstone. Playing career Maynard started off his career as an apprentice at Watford, before being released in 1999 after the Hertfordshire based side reached the Premier League. He then went on to have brief spells with FC Groningen and St Albans City, before joining Wealdstone. Maynard made 11 appearances for the Stones, scoring once away to Worthing in December 1999, before returning to St Albans in 2000. Maynard would then go on to spend two years at Aylesbury United, before spending another 9 years in non league football. Coaching career Assistant manager In May 2012, Maynard was appointed as assistant manager at Hemel Hempstead Town, with former teammate Dean Brennan being appointed as manager. Grosvenor Vale
Grosvenor Vale is a football ground in Ruislip Ruislip ( ) is an area in the London Borough of Hillingdon in West London, and in the historic county of Middlesex. Dulwich (; ) is an area in south London, England. The settlement is mostly in the London Borough of Southwark, with parts in the London Borough of Lambeth, and consists of Dulwich Village, East Dulwich, West Dulwich, and the Southwark half of Herne Hill (which is often referred to as the North Dulwich triangle). Middlesex Senior Charity Cup
The Middlesex Senior Charity Cup is a knock-out system football competition that has been running since 1901. It was presented in 1901 by C.S. Goldmann, Esq. and was first played for in the 1901–02 season, the first winners being Clapton Orient. The competition is run mainly for non-league clubs in the region, although league sides have been known to enter the competition, such as Barnet, Brentford Chelsea Tottenham Hotspur and Q.P.R. Hayes have won the competition the most times, with 15 wins (their first victory came in 1932 and their most recent in 1991). In 1988, the final, sponsored by Russell Grant in which Hendon beat Wembley 2–0, was played at Wembley Stadium. On 25 April 2007, Harrow Borough retained the Cup for a second year by beating Brook House at Staines Town's Wheatsheaf Park 5–4 on penalties after the match had finished 0–0 after extra time. Athenian League
The Athenian League was an English amateur football league for clubs in and around London. The league was originally to be called the Corinthian League,Athenian Football League minutes 1912-1921 (National Football Museum, Preston). but this name was rejected by the Football Association. It was formed in 1912 with ten clubs, but had to close down in 1914 due to the onset of World War I. When it reformed in 1920, only three of the previous teams rejoined. Clubs left and joined the league at a rate of about one a year, with a number leaving to join the Isthmian League, the strongest amateur league in the London area. The FA Amateur Cup was an English football competition for amateur clubs. It commenced in 1893 and ended in 1974 when the Football Association abolished official amateur status. The London League was a football competition that was held in the London and surrounding areas of south-east England from 1896 until 1964. In 1896 the president of the London League was Arnold Hills founder of Thames Ironworks F.C. (which later reformed as West Ham United). One of the men who helped draft the rules of the competition was Francis Payne, club secretary of Thames Ironworks F.C. in 1897. The league started with three divisions, the 3rd Grenadier Guards winning the inaugural championship. The league fluctuated between having a single division and reaching four divisions. Harrow And Wealdstone Station
Harrow & Wealdstone is a London Underground and railway station on the Watford DC line and West Coast Main Line in Harrow and Wealdstone in the London Borough of Harrow. It is on the line from London Euston station. It is also the northern terminus of the Bakerloo line and the next station towards south is Kenton. It is served by London Underground (Bakerloo line), London Overground, London Northwestern Railway, and Southern services.
