''Warp20 (Recreated)'' is a compilation album released by Warp Records in 2009. It contains covers of Warp artists, such as Aphex Twin, LFO, Boards of Canada and Grizzly Bear, by other Warp artists, such as Plaid, Autechre and Mira Calix. ''Warp20 (Recreated)'' was released as part of the ''Warp20'' box set, released to commemorate the label's 20th anniversary. Cover Version
In popular music, a cover version, cover song, remake, revival, or simply cover, is a new performance or recording by a musician other than the original performer or composer of the song. Originally, it referred to a version of a song released around the same time as the original in order to compete with it. Now, it refers to any subsequent version performed after the original. History The term "cover" goes back decades when cover version originally described a rival version of a tune recorded to compete with the recently released (original) version. ''When'' is a studio album by Vincent Gallo, released on Warp in 2001. It peaked at number 44 on the UK Independent Albums Chart. Critical reception Tim DiGravina of AllMusic gave the album 4.5 stars out of 5, saying, "With its smart, confident arrangements, consistent tone, and fascinating personal themes, the album sees Gallo making a bold, confident, and mature musical step of considerable relevance." James Keast of ''Exclaim!'' described it as "an atypical, eccentric and occasionally atonal exploration of simple sounds and dissonant piano and guitar plinking." Mark Pritchard (music Producer)
Mark Pritchard (born 1971) is an English electronic musician, currently signed to Warp. He has produced a large discography with a constant change of styles and genres, in both solo work under various aliases, and collaborations. History Mark Pritchard was born in Yeovil in Somerset, England in 1971. From an early age he listened to a wide range of musical styles, and says when he was 5 his mother would buy him a new 7" record every week. After spending his school years listening to ska, 2-tone, indie and rock, he eventually became involved in club music, specifically Detroit techno and Chicago house. In the clubs of Taunton he came into contact with fellow West Country residents Tom Middleton and Richard D. James. Middleton would become frequent collaborator and James would eventually be Pritchard's label-mate on Warp. Hudson Mohawke
Ross Matthew Birchard (born 11 February 1986), better known by the stage name Hudson Mohawke, is a Scottish-American producer, composer, and DJ from Glasgow. He is known for his influential work in 21st century hip-hop and electronic music. A founding member of the UK label collective LuckyMe, his fractured, colorful take on hip-hop made him a leading figure in the late-2000s wonky scene. He released his debut album ''Butter'' in 2009 on Warp Records. He has followed with the solo albums '' Lantern'' (2015) and '' Cry Sugar'' (2022), both on Warp. O Soundtrack My Heart
''O Soundtrack My Heart'' is the second album by PVT (still under the band's original name, Pivot) – their first on Warp Records. It was released on 9 August 2008 in Australia, and 18 August in Europe. The album was produced by Pivot in Sydney via London throughout 2006, tracked by Scott Horscroft, mixed by John McEntire (Tortoise, The Sea and Cake) in May 2007 and mastered by Noel Sommerville (Interpol, White Stripes). The album's cover art contains images by French artist Michel Granger who was also responsible for the sleeve of Jean Michel Jarre's album ''Oxygène''. Indeed, the sleeve of ''O Soundtrack My Heart'' bears a thematic similarity to the cover of Jarre's '' Oxygène 7–13'' album. Pivot (Australian Band)
PVT (disemvoweling of ''pivot'') is an experimental band based between London and Sydney. Band members are Richard Pike, Laurence Pike and Dave Miller. Brothers Richard and Laurence grew up in Sydney, later meeting Dave Miller who originally comes from Perth, Australia. The band have released five albums. History PVT was formed as Pivot in Sydney in 1999 by brothers Richard Pike and Laurence Pike. The band spent the subsequent four years developing their sound and working on their debut album, with guitarist Richard Pike producing. They released their debut album, ''Make Me Love You'', in August 2005 on Sensory Records. It was nominated for a J Award by national youth broadcaster Triple J. Guillermo Scott Herren is an American producer who has been based in Atlanta, Barcelona and New York City. Herren releases music under the aliases Prefuse 73, Delarosa & Asora, Ahmad Szabo, and Piano Overlord, and is also part of the groups Savath y Savalas, Sons of the Morning, Fudge, Risil, and Diamond Watch Wrists. Christopher Stephen Clark (born 29 August 1979) is a British electronic musician, performing under the mononym Clark. He has produced music for his own albums, as well as music for television, films and video games, having composed scores for award-winning contemporary dance and BAFTA nominated TV series. Russell Haswell (born 1970, Coventry) is an English multidisciplinary artist. He has exhibited conceptual and wall-based visual works, video art, public sculpture, as well as audio presentations in both art gallery and concert hall contexts. Extreme Computer Music is one specialized area of activity. ''Frequencies'' is the debut studio album by British electronic music duo LFO, released on 22 July 1991 by Warp. It peaked at No. 42 on the UK Albums Chart and was released to universal acclaim. Background Warp originally signed LFO in 1990 after DJ Martin played their tracks at Leeds Warehouse. The duo were both 19 years old when they recorded their debut LP. According to Mark Bell, most of the album was made by him alone because Varley felt "trapped by the confines of Warp" and wanted to make more direct dance music; the credits were nonetheless split 50/50. Release ''Frequencies'' was originally released by Warp in the United Kingdom, while it was later released by Tommy Boy Records in the United States. Luke Vibert
Luke Vibert (born 26 January 1973) is a British electronic musician and producer, also known for his work under several aliases such as Plug and Wagon Christ. Raised in Cornwall, Vibert began releasing projects in the 1990s across varied genres, including techno, drum and bass, and trip hop. He has recorded on labels such as Rephlex, Ninja Tune, Planet Mu, and Warp. Early years: 1990s Vibert's first musical output was in a variety of bands, including a punk act called Five Minute Fashion and later a Beastie Boys-esque group called the Hate Brothers, but he quickly moved into the low-cost environment of solo electronic composition. Rustie (born Russell Whyte) is a Scottish musician from Glasgow. He is associated with the Numbers label collective and first received attention for his 2007 EP ''Jagz the Smack''. He signed to Warp Records in 2009. His 2011 debut album '' Glass Swords'' won him widespread acclaim. His music blends disparate genres, including hip hop, rave, and video game music.
