Waqa Blake
Waqa Blake (born 26 October 1994) is a Fijian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a and for the Parramatta Eels in the NRL and Fiji at international level. He previously played for the Penrith Panthers in the National Rugby League and New South Wales City. Background Blake was born in Lautoka, Fiji, and is of Fijian descent through his mother. Blake moved to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia as a 9-year-old. He played his junior football for the Brighton Seagulls. Blake then moved to Perth and played for Joondalup Giants in the Perth Rugby League competition before making the Perth Pirates S. G. Ball Cup representative team. At the end of 2012, after being spotted playing for the Pirates, Blake was signed by the Penrith Panthers. Playing career 2013 In 2013 and 2014, Blake played for the Penrith Panthers' NYC team. Lautoka () is the second largest city in Fiji. It is on the west coast of the island of Viti Levu, in the Ba Province of the Western Division. The Pacific Rugby League International is a rugby league test match that has been played between two Pacific Island nations during the National Rugby League's annual representative weekend since 2013. The fixture was held at Penrith Stadium for the 2013 and 2014 test matches. In 2015, two fixtures were held; Samoa and Tonga competed for the Polynesian Cup while Fiji and Papua New Guinea competed for the Melanesian Cup at Cbus Super Stadium. In 2016 the fixtures returned to New South Wales and were held at Parramatta's Pirtek Stadium. In August 2015, the NRL announced a new $925 million (Australian) TV deal. As part of the deal it was announced that the Pacific test matches would continue to be televised until at least 2022 and will be played on the Sunday before game 2 of the State of Origin series. The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Northern Pride Rugby League Football Club is a Queensland rugby league club founded in 2007. Based in Cairns, Queensland they compete in the QRL State competition, the Hostplus Cup, formerly the Wizard Queensland Cup. The club represents Far North Queensland. History The Northern Pride was one of two expansion teams for the 2008 season of the QRL Wizard Queensland Cup, along with the Mackay Cutters, against whom they played their debut game. Queensland Residents Rugby League Team
The Queensland Residents rugby league team is a representative rugby league team consisting of players who compete in the Intrust Super Cup (Queensland Cup) competition. They currently play an annual fixture against NSW Cup Representative Team, often as a curtain raiser to a State of Origin game.
