Wando County
Wando County (''Wando-gun'') is a county in South Jeolla Province, South Korea. It takes its name from the island of Wando, which is the largest island within the county and serves as the county seat. Wando island is perhaps most famous for Cheonghaejin, the former headquarters of Jang Bogo, a 9th-century Korean historical figure whose private fleet and army dominated the sea routes in the Yellow Sea. Wando's most famous native in modern times is champion golfer K.J. Choi. Districts Speciality The best Gim is produced in the Wando area. Laver farming goes back 200 years, and with 22%, Wando is the biggest production area. In 2006, Wando exported about 2.3 million tons of green laver to the United States, Japan, and Taiwan. Cheongsando
Cheongsando (hangul: 청산도) is an island off the south coast of the Republic of Korea, being the main island of Cheongsan-myeon, Wando County, South Jeolla Province. Accompanied by the four inhabited islands of Daemodo, Somodo, Yeoseodo, and Jangdo and several uninhabited islands, it is called Cheongsando ('green mountain island') because it remains green through four seasons. It has long been called Seonsan or Seonwon, meaning that a Taoist hermit dwells on the island because of the beautiful view which creates a harmony with the clear and blue archipelago. Sinjido
Sinjido is an island located off the cost of South Jeolla Province, South Korea. It covers an area of 30.99 km2 and features several peaks: Sang-san (324 m), Nohak-bong (225 m), Beom-san (151 m), and Giseon-bong (141 m). A bridge connecting Wando County and Sinjido was completed in 2004. The island is 13 km long. Rongcheng, Shandong
Rongcheng () is a county-level city of the prefecture-level city of Weihai, at the eastern extremity of Shandong Province, China, looking out to the Yellow Sea in all directions but the west. History According to historical records, the First Emperor of the Qin dynasty had visited Rongcheng twice, building bridges and temples. In 1735, during the Qing dynasty, the Yongzheng Emperor gave Rongcheng its present name. Gyonggi do District (Nowon-gu) is a residential district of Seoul, South Korea, located in the most northeastern part of the metropolitan city. It has the highest population density in Seoul, with 619,509 people living in the area of 35.44 km². Characteristics Nowon District was formed in 1988 by splitting from Dobong District. Gangdong-gu
Gangdong District (Gangdong-gu) is one of the 25 '' gu'' which make up the city of Seoul, South Korea. Gangdong is literally "east of the (Han) River". It is located on the east side of the city. Jungbu (literally "Central Part") Express Motorway starts in and passes through Sangil-dong, which is located in the east end of this district. A sister city or a twin town relationship is a form of legal or social agreement between two geographically and politically distinct localities for the purpose of promoting cultural and commercial ties. While there are early examples of international links between municipalities akin to what are known as sister cities or twin towns today dating back to the 9th century, the modern concept was first established and adopted worldwide during World War II.
