Wade Ronald Arthur Manning (born July 25, 1955) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos. He played college baseball at Ohio State University. Early years Manning attended Shaker Heights High School where he played baseball and American football, football. He was an outstanding baseball player that was drafted by the Cleveland Indians. In American football, football he played as a Safety (American and Canadian football position), safety. In his first year out of high school he worked as a clerk and draftsman for an engineering firm. The next year he studied at John Carroll University. He then transferred to Ohio State University on an engineering scholarship. He Walk-on (sports), walked-on and eventually earned a scholarship to play for the baseball team.
