WZBZ ("99.3 The Buzz") is an urban-leaning Rhythmic Contemporary station in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Its studios are located at the Bayport One complex in West Atlantic City, and its transmitter is located north of the Casino district in Atlantic City. History WZBZ's initial sign on was in 1974 as WGRF, an adult contemporary station and sister station to 1340 AM, WMID. WGRF was branded as Stereo 99. Together, WGRF and WMID were referred to as "The Dynamic Duo"; WMID was "The Jersey Giant" and WGRF was "The Jersey Mermaid." In 1983, WGRF became WLQE, a soft Adult Contemporary station branded as Lucky 99. Lucky 99's air staff included Dave Kerr, Christopher Caldwell, Bill Cain, Ellis B "Bruce Ellis" Feaster, Kevin Hall, & Mike Sivilli. In 1988, the Lucky 99 moniker was dropped and the call letters were switched to the FM version of its sister's call letters, becoming WMID-FM. WAIV
WAIV (102.3 FM) is a radio station licensed that serves Cape May, New Jersey. The station is owned by Equity Communications, L.P. and it simulcasts the Top 40-CHR radio format on co-owned 95.1 WAYV Atlantic City. The studios and offices are in the Bayport One complex in West Atlantic City. History 102.3 first signed on June 3, 1967 as WRIO-FM, in a religious format. The WRIO calls had previously been used on the 101.7 frequency. In 1983, 102.3's call letters were changed to WSJL, which stood for "South Jersey's Lighthouse." WSJL continued the religious format until 1995. In July 1995, WSJL began simulcasting sister station 99.3 WMID-FM, which was formatted as a rock station at the time. In 1997, both stations changed formats to smooth jazz. 99.3 picked up the call sign WSAX while 102.3 became WJSX. WAYV (95.1 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station located in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It airs a contemporary hit radio format. It has been among the top rated and billing stations in the Atlantic City market since 1980. WEZW (93.1 FM) is an FM radio station based in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey and serving the Ocean City, Cape May and Atlantic City markets. Its studios are located at the Bayport One complex in West Atlantic City, and its transmitter is located in Wildwood, New Jersey.
