WLEC (1450 AM) – branded as 1450 AM WLEC – is a commercial oldies/full service radio station licensed to Sandusky, Ohio. Owned by Fremont-based BAS Broadcasting, the station serves the Sandusky/ Norwalk/ Port Clinton market (collectively referred to as Vacationland and/or the Firelands), including Erie, Ottawa, and Huron counties. WLEC is the local affiliate of Westwood One's America's Best Music, in addition to the Cleveland Guardians, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the NFL on Westwood One, and the Ohio State radio networks. The WLEC studios and transmitter are co-located in a Quonset hut east of Sandusky's downtown. WMJK
WMJK is a commercial FM radio station serving the Sandusky, Port Clinton, and Lake Erie Islands area (collectively known as "Vacationland"). The station broadcasts with an effective radiated power of 3,000 watts at 100.9 FM and is licensed to Clyde, Ohio; about 15 miles west-southwest of Sandusky. The station is branded as "Coast Country 100.9". In January 2009, the station dropped its longtime classic rock format in favor of country music. It also serves as the "Vacationland" region affiliate of the Cleveland Browns Radio Network. WMJK is currently owned by BAS Broadcasting. WFRO-FM is a commercial FM radio station, licensed to the Sandusky county seat of Fremont, Ohio. The station operates at the federally assigned frequency of 99.1 MHz, and is owned by BAS Broadcasting. History WFRO had for much of its existence, been a combination AM and FM station, with the FM first going on the air in 1946, and the AM (at 900 kHz) coming on the air three years later. WOHF (92.1 FM, "The Wolf") is an American radio station licensed to Bellevue, Ohio, serving Ohio's Vacationland region, and featuring a classic hits music format. The station is an affiliate of Cumulus Media's Classic Hits (formerly "Pure Gold" and "Oldies Radio") network. America's Best Music is the on-air branding of a soft oldies and adult standards 24-hour radio network, formerly known as AM Only. The service is syndicated by Westwood One, a subsidiary of Cumulus Media. It was one of the original Transtar Radio Networks formats. Despite its old name of AM Only, "America's Best Music" is no longer exclusive to AM stations and is carried on some FM stations.
