Edith Frost
Edith Frost (born August 18, 1964) is an American singer-songwriter who describes her music as "pensive countrified psychedelia". Born in San Antonio, Texas, Frost moved to Brooklyn in 1990 where she played in the country bands ''The Holler Sisters'', ''The Marfa Lights'', and ''Edith and Her Roadhouse Romeos''. In 1996, she moved to Chicago after signing to the city's Drag City label, which released her demo as a self-titled EP. A second EP, ''Ancestors'', followed in 1997. Her debut album ''Calling Over Time'' was released in 1997, and featured Jim O'Rourke, David Grubbs, and Sean O'Hagan of Stereolab and the High Llamas. This was followed by ''Telescopic'' in 1998, which was produced by Neil Hagerty and Jennifer Herrema from the band Royal Trux. Steve Albini (pronounced ; born July 22, 1962) is an American musician, record producer, audio engineer and music journalist. He was a member of Big Black, Rapeman and Flour, and is a member of Shellac. He is the founder, owner and principal engineer of Electrical Audio, a recording studio complex in Chicago. In 2018, Albini estimated that he had worked on several thousand albums over his career. He has worked with acts such as Nirvana, Pixies, the Breeders, PJ Harvey, and former Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Archer Prewitt (born 1963 in Frankfort, Kentucky) is an American musician and cartoonist associated with the independent music scene in Chicago, Illinois. Biography Music Prewitt enrolled in the Kansas City Art Institute and began drumming in the band Tunnel Dogs and then Mudhead. Archer also played bass in Kansas City local favorites the Bangtails. A song by the Bangtails appears on the 2020 compilation ''Strum & Thrum: The American Jangle Underground 1983-1987''.
