''Wonder Woman'' is a 2017 superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios, it was directed by Patty Jenkins from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg, based on a story by Heinberg, Zack Snyder, and Jason Fuchs. The film is a spin-off of '' Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'' (2016), a standalone film depicting the character's origin story, and it is the fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Patricia Lea Jenkins (born July 24, 1971) is an American film director, screenwriter, and producer. She has directed the feature films '' Monster'' (2003), ''Wonder Woman'' (2017), and '' Wonder Woman 1984'' (2020).
