Wayne Parnell
Wayne Dillon Parnell (born 30 July 1989) is a South African professional cricketer who has played Test cricket, Test, One Day International and Twenty20 International cricket for the South Africa national cricket team. At domestic level he played for Cape Cobras, Warriors cricket team, Warriors and Eastern Province cricket team, Eastern Province in South Africa and for a range of teams in competitions around the world. Early life and education Parnell was born in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth in 1989. He attended Grey High School in his home town, leaving in 2007. Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
Gqeberha ( , ), formerly named Port Elizabeth, and colloquially referred to as P.E., is a major seaport and the most populous city in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. It is the seat of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality, South Africa's second-smallest metropolitan municipality by area. One Day International
One Day International (ODI) is a format of cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of fifty overs, with the game lasting up to 7 hours. The World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. They are major matches and considered the highest standard of List A, limited-overs competition. The international one-day game is a late-twentieth-century development. The first ODI was played on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. When the first three days of the third Test were washed out officials decided to abandon the match and, instead, play a one-off one day game consisting of 40 eight-ball overs per side. 2021–22 CSA T20 Challenge
The 2021–22 CSA T20 Challenge was a Twenty20 cricket tournament that took place in South Africa during February 2022. It replaced the planned 2022 edition of the Mzansi Super League, which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Imperial Lions were the defending champions. Following the conclusion of the group stage matches, Titans, Western Province, Dolphins and Rocks all progressed to the semi-finals of the tournament. In the first semi-final, Titans beat Dolphins by six wickets to advance to the final. They were joined in the final by Rocks, who beat Western Province by seven wickets in their semi-final match. In the final, Rocks beat Titans by 15 runs to win the tournament. Western Province Cricket Team (South Africa)
World Sports Betting Western Province is a professional Western Cape first-class cricket team which has been part of the Sotuth African domestic cricket structures since the 1890's. The team later restructured into the Cape Cobras which became part of the Cricket South Africa Franchise era from 2005 to 2021. South Western Districts Of South Africa Cricket Team
South Western Districts, known as SW Districts or SWD, is a South African first class cricket team based in the Western Cape city of Oudtshoorn, representing approximately the eastern half of Western Cape province. They form part of the Cape Cobras franchise, and play their home games at the Oudtshoorn Recreation Ground. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is of three or more days scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but the term was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. Nelson Mandela University, formerly Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, is a public university in South Africa. Twenty20 International
Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of Twenty20 cricket, in which each team plays a single innings with a maximum of twenty overs. The matches are played between international teams recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In the T20I format, each bowler is restricted to a maximum of four overs. A mandatory powerplay is taken during the first six overs of an innings.
