The Washington Open is the Washington state open golf tournament, open to both amateur and professional golfers. It is organized by the Pacific Northwest section of the PGA of America. It has been played annually since 1922 at a variety of courses around the state. Washington Open (tennis)
The Washington Open (known as the Citi Open for sponsorship reasons) is an annual hardcourt tennis tournament played at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park in Washington, D.C. The Washington Open is part of the ATP Tour 500, WTA 250, and the US Open Series, the latter of which is a schedule of North American hard court events leading into the US Open. After the 2014 edition, the Washington Open dropped out of the US Open Series, showing frustration over US Open Series broadcaster ESPN providing little coverage of the tournament on television. As of 2019, the Washington Open has rejoined the series, but still maintains the broadcast agreement it had reached with Tennis Channel. Dancesport is competitive ballroom dancing, as contrasted to social or exhibition dancing. In the case of Para dancesport, at least one of the dancers is in a wheelchair. Dancesport events are sanctioned and regulated by dancesport organizations at the national and international level, such as the World DanceSport Federation. The name was invented to help competitive ballroom dancing gain Olympic recognition. The physical demand of dancesport has been the subject of scientific research. History The first unofficial world championship took place in 1909, and the first formation team was presented in 1932 by Olive Ripman at the Astoria Ballroom, London. Subramanian Arun Prasad
Subramanian Arun Prasad (born 21 April 1988) is an Indian chess player. In 2008 he became India's 18th chess Grandmaster. Biography Born in Salem, Tamil Nadu, Arun Prasad won the 2004 Asian Under 16 Chess Championship in Tehran, Iran edging out Lê Quang Liêm on tiebreak score and as a result he earned the title of FIDE Master (FM). The same year he also won the Asian Junior Championship on tiebreak over J. Deepan Chakkravarthy in Bikaner, India. Thanks to this achievement Arun Prasad was awarded the title of International Master (IM). In 2009 he became the first Indian to win the Open in the Scottish Chess Championship in Edinburgh, Scotland.
