Wall Speedway
Wall Stadium Speedway (also known briefly as Wall Township Speedway) is a 1/3-mile high banked (30° in corners) paved oval track in Wall Township, New Jersey, United States. The track opened to the public in the spring of 1950 and has operated for at least a part of every year since. The track was an early home to racing stars Ray Evernham, Jr. and the Truex family of Martin Sr., Martin Jr. and Ryan Truex. Also, it hosted a NASCAR Convertible Series race in 1956 and a NASCAR Grand National Series event in 1958. The more prominent drivers over the years have included Gil Hearne (eight-time champion), Tommie Elliott (the youngest driver ever to race in NASCAR's highest division) and Charlie Kremer, Jr. (both four-time champions), John Blewett III, Jimmy Blewett (four-time champion), Jimmy Spencer (Garden State Classic winner), Tony Siscone (six-time champion), Richie Evans, and Charlie Jarzombek (Garden State Classic winner). Wall Township, New Jersey
Wall Township is a Township (New Jersey), township within Monmouth County, New Jersey, Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Crisscrossed by several different highways within the heart of the Jersey Shore region, the township is a transportation hub of Central Jersey, Central New Jersey and a commuter town, bedroom suburb of New York City, in the New York metropolitan area. 2023 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
The 2023 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was the thirty-ninth season of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, a stock car racing tour sanctioned by NASCAR. It began with the New Smyrna Beach Visitors Bureau 200 at New Smyrna Speedway on February 11 and ended with the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 200 at Martinsville Speedway on October 26. Jon McKennedy entered the season as the defending series champion. McKennedy did not defend his title as the result of his race team folding partway through the season, which caused him to only run a part-time schedule. Ron Silk won his second series championship in 2023, previously winning the 2011 championship. Silk became the seventh driver to win multiple championships in the series. On July 12, 2023, driver J. B. Fortin was suspended by NASCAR after he physically fought a NASCAR official after the race at Wall Stadium. He was reinstated by NASCAR on September 15. The 2020 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was the thirty-sixth season of the Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT), a stock car racing tour sanctioned by NASCAR. It began with the Wade Cole Memorial 133 at Jennerstown Speedway on June 21 and concluded at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on October 11. Justin Bonsignore won the championship, his second. The 2007 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour was the 23rd season of the Whelen Modified Tour (WMT). It began with the Icebreaker 150 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on April 15. It ended with the Xtra Mart 150 at Thompson again on October 14. Mike Stefanik entered the season as the defending Drivers' Champion. Donny Lia won the 2007 championship after 16 races, 180 points ahead of Todd Szegedy. The season was marred with the death of John Blewett III, who was killed in a crash at Thompson on August 16. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) (previously the NASCAR Winston Modified Tour and NASCAR Featherlite Modified Series from 1985 until 2005) is a modified stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR in the Modified Division. The Modified Division is NASCAR's oldest division, and is the only open-wheeled division that NASCAR sanctions. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events are mainly held in the northeastern United States, but the 2007 and 2008 tours expanded to the Midwest with the addition of a race in Mansfield, Ohio. Flemington Speedway
Flemington Speedway was a motor racing circuit in Flemington, New Jersey which operated from 1915 to 2002. The track was once known for being the fastest 5/8-mile dirt track in the United States. Early history Flemington Speedway was created as a mid-nineteenth century fairgrounds horse track hosting horse racing events during the Hunterdon County 4-H Agricultural Fair starting in 1848. It was a half mile, four-cornered dirt oval. Motorcycles first raced on this horse track in 1911, and the "Speedway" hosted its first automobile race in 1915 as a half mile dirt oval. The first race was promoted and won by Ira Vail. The track's grandstand opened in 1917 and remained standing until the track was demolished in January 2005. Auto races were a nearly annual event at Flemington Fair. Stock Car Races became the weekly Saturday night featured attraction when lights were added in 1955.
