, also known as WTV, is a Japanese commercial terrestrial television station, founded in 1973 and headquartered in Wakayama, Japan. It is a member of the Japanese Association of Independent Television Stations (JAITS). It is the only commercial television station whose headquarter is located in Wakayama Prefecture. The callsign of WTV is JOOM-DTV. In 2016, WTV's news studio won the Good Design Award. is a special ward in the Tokyo Metropolis in Japan. The ward refers to itself in English as Chūō City. It was formed in 1947 as a merger of Kyōbashi and Nihonbashi wards following Tokyo City's transformation into Tokyo Metropolis. Chūō-ku, as a combination of Kyōbashi and Nihonbashi, is the core of Shitamachi, the original downtown center of Edo-Tokyo. The Japanese Association of Independent Television Stations (JAITS; ) is a group of Japan's reception fee-free commercial broadcasting, commercial terrestrial television stations which are not members of Japanese media#TV networks, the major national television networks. The association was established on 4 November 1977. Its members sell to, buy from, and co-produce programmes with other members. While a few of them, namely Tokyo MX, Television Kanagawa, TVK and Sun Television, Sun TV and sell more than the others, it does not mean the former control the others in programming.
