Hilde Waage
Hilde Henriksen Waage (born 18 August 1959, in Drammen) is a Norwegian historian and peace researcher. She is Professor of History at the University of Oslo and was acting Director of Peace Research Institute Oslo from 1992 to 1993. Waage is an expert on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict and Norway–Israel relations. Career Waage took the Cand.philol. degree at the University of Oslo in 1987 and the Dr.philos. degree in 1997, both in history. She became a professor at the University of Oslo in 2007. Before this, Waage worked at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), mostly as a researcher but also as acting director (September 1992 – April 1993) and deputy director (1996–2005). Waage has produced foundational contributions to Norwegian scholarship on Norway's role in the Oslo process of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations during the early to mid-1990s. Peter Waage
Peter Waage (29 June 1833 – 13 January 1900) was a Norwegian chemist and professor of chemistry at the University of Kristiania. Along with his brother-in-law Cato Maximilian Guldberg, he co-discovered and developed the law of mass action between 1864 and 1879. Biography He grew up on the island of Hidra in Vest-Agder, Norway. He was the son of Peder Pedersen Waage (1796–1872) and Regine Lovise Wathne (1802–72). He attended the Bergen Cathedral School and studied chemistry and mineralogy at the University of Kristiania (now University of Oslo) under Adolph Strecker. In 1858, he received the Crown Prince's gold medal (''Kronprinsens gullmedalje'') for work on the development of a theory of oxygen-containing acid radicals. He became a cand.real. in 1859. Hjelm Waage
Georg Henrik Hjelm Waage (2 February 1866 – 12 March 1947) was a Norwegian ship-owner and politician for the Conservative Party. He was born in Kopervik to Asbjørn Andreas Waage (1828–1904) and Jensine C. Coucheron Grip (1829–1905). He worked in his father's company to 1886, then in the postal service from 1886 to 1898. In 1899 he became a co-owner in the shipping company Hagbart Waages Rederi, together with his brother. When the brother died in 1909, Hjelm Waage became the sole owner and changed the company name to Waages Rederi. His nephew became a co-owner in 1937. Hjalmar Waage (8 February 1892 – 1939) was a Norwegian newspaper editor and writer. He was born in Bergen, and joined the Norwegian Labour Party in 1908. He became editor-in-chief of '' Arbeidets Ret'' in 1913, sub-editor of ''Fremtiden'' in 1915 before being hired in ''Social-Demokraten'' in 1920. He then edited ''Arbeider-Avisa'' from 1924 to 1925 before being hired in ''Arbeiderbladet''. Roy Waage (born 17 November 1963) is a Norwegian politician for the Coastal Party, the current mayor of Skjervøy.
