WDNN-CD, virtual channel 49 and UHF digital channel 20, is a low-powered, Class A independent television station licensed to Dalton, Georgia, United States. WDNN is primarily viewed on local cable systems as Channel 10. North Georgia Television also owns and operates Antenna TV affiliate WDGA-CD (virtual channel 43, UHF digital channel 47) in Dalton, Georgia. This station has now signed an affiliation agreement with Tribune Entertainment's Antenna TV network, as of October 24, 2018. In the broadcasting industry, a dark television station or silent radio station is one that has gone off the air for an indefinite period of time. Usually unlike dead air (broadcasting only silence), a station that is dark or silent does not even transmit a carrier signal. U.S. law Transmitter operations According to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), a radio or television station is considered to have gone dark or silent if it is to be off the air for thirty days or longer. Ultra high frequency (UHF) is the ITU designation for radio frequencies in the range between 300 megahertz (MHz) and 3 gigahertz (GHz), also known as the decimetre band as the wavelengths range from one meter to one tenth of a meter (one decimeter). Radio waves with frequencies above the UHF band fall into the super-high frequency (SHF) or microwave frequency range. Lower frequency signals fall into the VHF ( very high frequency) or lower bands.
