Virgin Radio (France)
Virgin Radio was a French private musical category D radio (category C for local stations). The whole works like a broadcasting network, the local antennas broadcasting a program during the pick-up, and the national program the rest of the time. Virgin Radio has been the new name for Europe 2 since January 1, 2008. On 31 december 2022 Virgin Radio France closed Down and was replaced By Europe2 which returned in air. Virgin Radio broadcasts singles and songs by electro-rock & pop artists. Classified in the category of contemporary adult radios, it is in line with Europe 2 and primarily targets young adults. Positioned since the summer of 2012 on an electro-rock & pop format, the station has known since its creation a number of editorial changes, moving from rock to electro soft rock, to pop-soul, then to hits. Metropolitan France (french: France métropolitaine or ''la Métropole''), also known as European France (french: Territoire européen de la France) is the area of France which is geographically in Europe. This collective name for the European regions of France is used in everyday life in France but has no administrative meaning. Rouge FM (Switzerland)
Rouge FM is a network of French-language adult contemporary radio stations broadcasting throughout Quebec, Canada. Established in 1990 as RockDétente, they are owned by Bell Media. All "Rouge FM" stations broadcast in the same markets as Bell's mainstream rock network, Énergie, although Énergie also has a few stations in markets not served by "Rouge FM". Although the stations concentrate on French adult contemporary music, it would mix in English music as well, much like Cogeco's " Rythme FM" network, which has fewer stations than "Rouge FM". The flagship radio station is Montreal's CITE-FM. The Astral jingles on this network are different from the adult hits jingles used by Astral's English-language adult contemporary stations, nut the network uses a very relaxing acoustic tune. The NRJ Group (NRJ is an acronym read as ''énergie'' in French, pronounced ) () is a French multimedia group based in Paris. Its founders are Jean-Paul Baudecroux and Max Guazzini. Since its foundation in 1981 as a French pop music radio station it has grown and evolved to become the NRJ Group. NRJ is the most popular radio station in France with 6,159,000 listeners daily. All stations of NRJ Group carry around 40 minutes every hour of non-stop hits (or sometimes, "10 hits in a row"). Direct Star
Direct Star was a French free-to-air music television channel owned by Vincent Bolloré, that launched and replaced Virgin 17 on 1 September 2010. The channel has been replaced on 7 October 2012 by D17 after being bought by the French group Canal+. History Bolloré's development in TNT On June 10, 2010, Bolloré group, already owner of Direct 8, bought the Virgin 17 channel from Lagardère Active for a sum that would amount to approximately €70 million, excluding the takeover of staff (20 people) and part of the programs. On July 12, 2010, the CSA gives its agreement for this repurchase. Virgin 17
Virgin 17 was a French music video and TV show television network owned by the MCM Group, a subsidiary of Lagardère Active. It was available through digital terrestrial television (DTT). The channel was created for the launch of DTT and modeled after MCM, another channel owned by Lagardère Active. It initially had the working title "iMCM", but before launch it was named after the radio station Europe 2, and was then renamed Virgin 17 on 1 January 2008 (along with the radio station which became Virgin Radio France) From 1 September 2010, Virgin 17 changed its name to Direct Star. Pop Rock
Pop rock (also typeset as pop/rock) is a fusion genre with an emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft, and less emphasis on attitude than rock music.
